Hey fellow podcast fans,

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I'll be doing a live trip report (just my wife and I on the trip) for the next 10 days, Sept 5-14, and I'd love for other podcast fans to participate. I'll be posting nightly blurbs and a few photos as time allows. Right now we're just sitting at the airport waiting for our redeye flight to Atlanta, connecting to Orlando for arrival around 8:30am :)

If Hurricane Ike ends up hitting Florida and we get stuck in our room, I'll be doing updates for as long as my Verizon air card works.

I'm doing the report in my current trip report thread (also linked in my sig). I just barely finished our trip report for September 2007 (I am the master of procrastination) so feel free to peruse that to get to know us :) There is a link to the start of the live report at the top of the first post.

Here is our itinerary:

Hope some of you will participate :)

Yipee!

I'm soooo in for the ride. I loved the photos in your last TR. I even snuck one as my screensaver:lovestruc . I can't wait for this one!!!!

thanks for the link!

DD's there now too...she'll also be at the halloween party on tuesday night!!...

she's also at the pop century on free dining....say hi if you happen to notice a very tall, slim, blonde traveling with another girl (they're both 24)...she usually wears her backpack that has about 7 characters hanging on the back....

Lord Almighty look at that itinerary. It puts mine to shame. :worship:

Code...is the picture of you and wife standing in a park setting the stop that the Heber Creeper makes at the half-way point? (We lived in Layton for several years and it looked familiar to me.)

I'm in! :yay: By the way, I love the format of your itinerary. It's very easy and fun to read.

Have a great time!

hahaha, we both LOL'ed at this comment.

We live actually live in Woods Cross, that was taken at a local park. You can actually see a fire burning in the hills of Farmington in the background.

great pictures!!!

so i guess you're encountering no lines too?

DD said that she's not had any lines anywhere so far...(except for a 30 minute line at toy story mania)..

Great pics. The bride from Haunted Mansion looks like a dude!! :lmao: Hope the weather improves at least a little bit for your trip. :thumbsup2

i saw in your live trip report that you said you were at epcot on friday night and it was crowded because it was the only park open to the general public..

i was worried that was going to happen when i saw that MK and MGM both had special events on friday.....

DD must have been there too as they had a dinner ADR at Chefs de France...

but i haven't heard from her how dinner or epcot was....

i know that they didn't have any lines up until friday night...

i hope you don't get any Ike driven rain (or any other kind of rain) on tuesday night during the halloween party....

I posted another update for today and 28 photos on page 36 of my TR thread, it was a bright and sunny day :)

As far as Ike goes, it still looks like we are going to be OK, probably just another rainy day like Hanna brought.

Yeah, Hanna didn't just bring rain up here in New England though. I've got a tree on my house and two holes in my roof... :( It's also laying on the power line, so the Fire Department is camped out making sure it doesn't burst into flames while hey wait for the power department to come and at least trim it away from the line, but they are dealing with a big power outage in town.

Lots of phone calls to make...

oh no!! how horrible...
that's what happened in june to my mom's house, when i was visiting..
a tornado hit and uprooted a massive oak tree and dropped it on her roof and the overhead power lines..
but in our case, the fire dept wouldn't come down the road to my mom's house- they said it was too dangerous for them to pass the power lines that were down at the beginning of the road....
i was ANGRY....how could they abandon us that way..
i had to stay awake for 48 hours watching for fires until the power company finally came to neutralize the lines....
they totally abandoned us....it was criminal...

anyway, i hope you get things sorted quickly....insurance, repairs, etc etc.....
i'm so sorry you're having to go through all of this....what a nightmare.....

So sorry to hear you're going through this...I hope your life gets back to normal asap! :goodvibes

Looks like it isn't too bad...the tree missed damaging the rafters, only punching holes through the shingles and slats beneath, so there is no structural damage. The tree will be removed tomorrow morning (its actually quite stable where it is right now) and then my roof guy will be coming in the afternoon.

That's great news. :goodvibes

you're lucky..

here's the tree on my parents house from the tornado in june -
this was taken after the high tension wires had been removed from the house and SUV (that had been parked next to the garage).
the wires you see in the picture are the phone and cable lines...
the high tension wires had been cut and removed by this point...
this picture is from 3 days after the tornado.

Yikes, glad things aren't too bad. That stinks anyway.

I've updated my live TR once again with the last 2 days with 40 photos. I was too tired yesterday to do an update, so I had to catch up this evening. Here is the page with the latest updates!
