So I was pondering going all out and making a datapad case for my phone for our two days in Batuu next week… and decided it was just too steep a learning curve and too much could go wrong. But I also knew my purple otter box was just not going to cut it with my Batuu bound outfit.
So… I found this case on Amazon:
I hit the art supplies store for some black, burnt umber and pewter oil paints… watched a couple of videos on dry brushing… and I now have this:



I’m going to leave it to fully dry, put my phone in it and see if I like it before spraying the case with a clear coat to seal it. For a first attempt, I think I did OK. And it certainly looks more like the painted metal I was going for, than green plastic. My wife ordered the same case in black so I get to do it all over again.
