We leave in 5 days for the World!! :Pinkbounc Could someone who just got back tell me what the weather has been like? Expecting hot and humid.....but has it been rainy?

Hi Diane...........I grew up in Door County! Yes it has been rainy down here but the typical late afternoon showers associated with the sea breezes colliding. It usually starts around 3 and is usually over by 6, and alot of times it's just hit or miss. I would say plan to take a break late in the afternoon and miss them, or if you don't mind getting wet the rides are usually all open unless there is thunder and lightening. I would perfer to take a break to wearing a poncho since those things get like saunas to me with the heat and the humidity. You will still have a great time.............as for me I wish I were in Wis to escape this heat and humidity for awhile:p

The weather has been quite bad for the past several days. Deadly lightning, hail and high wind storms that have done damage and knocked out power to some surrounding areas of WDW. This has alternated with "regular" summer rains that are not cooling things off a bit, when they end.

Yesterday, for example, right at rush hour, when I-4 was backed up from Lake Buena Vista to Lake Mary Blvd. (hour delay) due to rush hour traffic, and many folks attempting to get to Daytona for the Winn Dixie 250, there was a wicked storm with much deadly lightning. Not nice to be caught in at all.

Can't say as though we are having much of a summer yet this year, with this sort of weather.

The sun is shining now, however so there are parts of the days that give you some good weather. If you've not done what you want to do by eleven a.m. or noon, plan on doing it in the rain, and possibly nasty, stormy weather.

Be certain to bring rain gear with you. The ponchos aren't going to cut it in this type of weather. And don't forget back up dry shoes.

Thanks for the info! Sure doesn't sound too promising! :( We're only going to be there 5 days this trip and were really hoping for some non-rainy days! Guess we will just have to go with the flow.

Storms again this afternoon. It looked like most of Orlando was getting rain. Two people struck by lightening this week in Orlando. I just heard that 3 people were hit by lightening in Daytona at the race track. Take the storms seriously in Florida. If there is lightening, stay undercover until the storm passes!!!!

I added this website to my Disney Favs - just type in Orlando and it will give you a weeks worth of projected weather, thanks to weather channel and someone, somewhere else here at the DIS!!

I havent checked, it may be already programmed for the 10 day Orlando forecast!!

yep edited to add its all set for a 10 day forecast for Orlando, and it does look depressing - please, please

accuweather.com will give you a 15 day forecast, but be aware that these change frequently. Yesterday, it looked like our whole trip was going to be nothing but rain (which is fine, but still...) and today we're supposed to have at least half non-rainy days. So, don't be like me and freak out about the weather! I had one of my best times at DL with DS in a torrential downpour. I need to remember to take my own advice!

Yes it rains in the afternoon but except for a few days this week it is over with quickly.

For those of us on water restrictions the afternoon rains are welcome.

I would suggest heavier ponchos than the Dollar store ones unless you like them stuck to your body.
