We are returning to Disney World this year, August 28 - September 3. How is the weather during this time of year? We are from Indiana, so warmth, ability to swim, etc is very hit and miss, depending on whether we are experiencing "Indian Summer" or not. I know it's obviously Florida and not Indiana. I've read quite a bit about the humidity in August in Florida, but wasn't sure what kind of temp ranges we could expect.

The weather then will be very hot and humid with a daily afternoon thunderstorm.

What OKW Lover said....

A quick peek at the Weather.com shows the average high to be 91 and low of 73. The record lows are in the 60's. Be prepared to swelter. Great pool weather. Except during the afternoon thunderstorms.

I see you are from IN. Summers are warm for you but here in late August early it's like 2 degrees cooler than walking on the sun. :-) We don't have "indian summer" we have Hot, HOT and HOT. with humidity to boot. I don't want to alarm you but you need to be prepared. The sun is very hot so prepare by bringing extra sun screen. Most people do not apply enough through the day and get burned. The hottest time of the day is mid day but we normally get afternoon thunderstorms EVERYDAY between 3-5-ish. They typically only last about 30 min or so but you may want to invest in some ponchos ahead of getting to the parks. They charge an arm and a leg for them inside.
If you can take mid day pool/nap breaks, I recommend it. Early and late are the best plans of attack. Bring mosquito repellant. You'll need it at night.
And lastly, I can not stress this enough. Drink water. Like 2 times the amount you are use to. Water at the counter service places all over WDW will give it to you free so use it to your advantage. It is not tap water but it comes from the fountain that the soda is served from.
You can not hydrate enough and if you wait until you are thirsty, it's too late.

We were there in 2015 almost exact dates and it was HOT! I am talking walking out of your room and wanting to go back in and change your shirt because it already felt wet. You do get used to it. Just bring a few extra changes of clothes unless you want to do laundry so you can freshen up mid day. Plan on taking breaks mid day and stay hydrated. We were prepared for rain that trip with ponchos we only had rain one evening during our dinner at BOG and while waiting at the airport to fly home. The rain was heavy when it did rain. Have fun!

Thanks @Barbydoll8 This is exactly what I was looking for. We were in Disney last summer during the first week of June and will be back this year at the end of August. I wanted to make sure we'd have the opportunity to utilize the pool and wouldn't have to worry much about any kind of "cool" weather. Sounds like it won't even be an issue!

We did utilize cheap, not Disney ponchos last year on our trip. Thanks for the reminder! I definitely need to grab a few more before our trip this time around.

It's usually like 95 with a "feels like" temp of around 100. Extremely humid. When the sun goes down, it's still very warm, but much more tolerable. We always go the 3rd or 4th week of August.
