Weather-wise - what do you consider "hot"?

Just curious. I know I'm a major wimp when it comes to heat, but I'm a New England girl, and we don't really need to be all that tough, lol. And I can smile while sitting, frozen to a bleacher seat, at a football game when it's 20 degrees, so it's all about what you're used to.

So - for me, once it gets past 80 degrees and there's no shade or breeze, I start to die, lol. And if it's humid, forget it - I'm no good. My husband is a native Texan, so he can handle it well into the high 90's before he finds it hot. Sheeee-ow!!!

I'm not happy UNTIL it's over 80 and prefer it anywhere from 90-95. 98 degrees starts to get a little rough, but the humidity seems to make our weather here in FL. seem hotter than it is,in the summer the weather stations do the current temp along w/ a "feels like" temp.

...t.

Let's just say that October in Disney will be a LOT warmer than Derry in October!!! You won't need anything long sleeved. You won't need jeans. Plan on bringing lots of water. AK seems to be the warmest place on property (for whatever reason). Definately plan to ride Kali to cool off.

I'm from the north-NJ-and I looove the heat.
Around 90 and up is hot to me.
84-86 is absolutely perfect!

Texas here and I don't consider it real hot until 90...and I weigh 350 lbs.

I guess it dpeneds on where I am and what time of year. Here in NH, 90+ is hot, it's not unusual like so many people think, it happens quite often actually, but it's hot. It typically stays in the 80's during the Summer, though I prefer it at 75. It really doesn't help that the schools don't have AC. In Florida, I expect warmer. To generally answer you question, for my preference, 80 (with humidity like around here and FL which I'm both used to) is hot.

Sorry OP, didn't you see you were my neighbor.

Im a New englander as well..

the "heat" doesnt bother me..its the Humidity..that gets me every time.

I would say anything 85+ with any severe humidity.

I'm with you, OP. And I'm also a New Englander! We're also going in October, and I hope it's not too bad. Frankly, anything over 85 is too much for me. And I agree with PP that it's the humidity that kills me.

I'm also worried about our trip to Storyland (I'm SURE you know where this is!;) )this summer. We normally go in June, but this year it will be in August. I hope it's not too awful! :wizard:

MASS Here! Its definitely the humidity that makes FL rough in the Summer. I like hot, but I was there in August one year and it was a little too much to handle. My husband grew up in NH and he refuses to go to FL in the summer...We dragged him one year in July for a wedding and he wasn't happy.

He will go in Oct though. Its not bad. I'd say more like high 70s/80s..sometimes cooler at night.

90 is hot. I don't care that much for heat but I can live with it if it is dry. Humdity (Like we found in Missouri last summer) is an issue for me because of health concerns.

Let's see it reached 94 today and the humidity was at 80% and I thought it was actually nice(I spent about 3 hours outside playing with the kids)! I will say that when the humidity gets in the 90% range I really do start to melt. We went to WDW in mid Septemberand I thought the weather was fine. Now when we went at December and it dropped into the low 60's one night I just about froze! We Texans can handle the heat ...but the cold will knock us flat!

I am a So.Calif. girl. I can take it up to 105, then I'm bakin'! I don't get warm until 90-95, but with the humidity, ugh! I die! I don't know how people live in that stuff.
If you are going to WDW in Oct. it will be just perfect. I was there last year at that time in my shorts and a t-shirt. You will love it, I did anyways. I think it was in the low 80's high 70's. (I hope that isn't too hot for you.) Hey, I went to Disneyland on Mother's Day and it was 100 degrees! But it was my day and I had to see my mouse! Just pack accordingly and have fun!

I agree with you about the weather yesterday! My kids even mentioned how much they loved it. But-we do like it cold too. But, cold to us is not cold to every one else!!! I hate our humidity!! That's why we will not go to WDW in the summer. I know all about hot & humid and I am not going to stand on asphalt all day with it being reflected onto me and feel like I am baking/melting!! I don't like our summers here-just toooooo humid. I am in Southeast Texas and it really drains you! We take it easy here during the summer-because we have NO ENERGY! We did Disney in Oct and it was okay-still a bit warm, but the kids did get to swim more & Hey! Don't you go to Disney world to swim???

I can handle 95-100* unless I'm pregnant... ugh! Summer is no fun then! I also dont consider it to be cold unless we are talking below zero temps unless its windy.. I hate wind!

90 degree temps with 90% humidity is HOT! And it's like a hot where you can't breathe cuz it's weighing down on you and you feel sluggish. You don't even have to wear make-up cuz it just runs down your face....and every step you take results in your armpits sweating drastically! When you get up in the morning it's 90 and when you go to bed it's 90...that's Florida in the summertime! It was too hot for me and I can honestly say I won't try THAT again! I'm from MN and we get the humidity and heat in the summer but I'll just stay inside in the ac. In the winter we can get many days below zero and it's so cold you feel like your skin's gonna crack. Ya gotta love it!

Hi fellow New Englanders!

Both my husband and myself have lived in eastern MA our whole lives - so, needless to say, we are not well adapted to the heat. But then again, I also complain about the cold, too! I seem to have a small "comfort window" in terms of temperature!

June 2004 Trip - Came out of the Orlando Airport to pick up our rental car and the sweat started to pour off our bodies immediately. The "feels like" temps for the whole week were 100+ Yuck!! We looked at each other and both said "It can't be this hot all the time here" Well, we found out that it certainly can!! It felt like the worst heat wave that wouldn't end. Plus the fact that the parks were ungodly busy made for a significantly less magical time - we had our moments granted, but I will never go to WDW in the summer again

October 2006 Trip - Weather was above average for the time of year the whole week - mid to upper 80's with moderate humidity. We were definitely hot, but not sweltering - very doable but I would prefer slightly lower temps/humidity.

Next trip = October 2008 - hoping for seasonable temperatures (no hurricanes, please)!

Any temperature not followed by a WIND CHILL FACTOR!

*I live on the snowbelt, near the snow capital... Syracuse, NY.

I'm the same! Poor DH is a sweater (not the kind you wear:lmao: ) and we are constantly in a battle. This Monday it was in the triple digits here (I'm currently in the Mojave Desert) and it was finally a little warm for me in the sun (I was fine in the shade). "But it's a dry heat":rotfl: I know that at WDW the humidity makes it worse, but if it's not in the mid to hi 80's I feel deprived.
