Hi DLP Lovers !
Anyone a regular visitor to DLP at Christmas time ?
What is the weather generally like ? We went early December last year and were very lucky to enjoy warm(ish) sunny days the whole time.

I believe that winter time is the only time that DLP has the edge over WDW in a smuch as there is nothing more festive than being in the park, drinking a Hot Chocolate and watching all the festivities around you. This only works in the colder temperatures and wouldn't be right in Orlando ! (Although I am sure it is still awesome there too !)

We arrive on 16th December and are really looking forward to getting our dose of Vitamin D (isney) !!! It's onl;y 6 weeks since we got back from our wedding in WDW but my wife and I are already missing the atmosphere !

Hi,
We went last year at the end of November. It wasnt really that cold through the day but it did start to get cold around 4.00 clock. I agree that the the nip in the air only adds to the atmosphere of being there at christmas.
Congratulations on your recent wedding. Did you get married in WDW? If so it must have been fantastic :wizard:

Oh dear!! How's that for a vote of confidence, LOL. Oh well, there is something to be said for wrapping up in three million layers, but still, I'm hoping for a bit of :sunny: for when we go!

Yes, it was incredible, a real Disney Fairytale experience. My Disney Bride looked fantastic and really loved being Cinderella for the day.
We had the Glass Carriage and were married in the WDW Wedding Pavilion which is stunning.

:earseek: Oh WOW, that sounds absolutely amazing. I want to get married at WDW! What a dream come true, eh?! :cloud9:

It sounds like a fairytale, I would love to have been married somewhere like that princess: Never mind I am married to my prince charming now :lovestruc
You will always have that extra special memory to look back on :cloud9:

Last December when we were there (14th - 17th) it was absolutely freezing. On our last day 17th it was sooooooo cold and extremely windy too. The parades were cancelled and some areas roped off because decorations were being blown off the trees. My children (then 15 and 13) managed to collect a few decorations that had blown off the trees. Great to have as souvenirs as these are not sold anywhere...... a bit naughty to keep them tho !!!!!!! shhhhhhhhhhh Hey.. don't judge us, you all know you would have kept them too !!!!!!!

Hmmmm.......Hot Choccy !! One of the best bits of the DLP Christmas experience.

It's a different type of cold, but go prepared with lots of layers.

Well that's what I thought, I wanted it to be cold so we could get all wrapped up and drink hot drinks all day and it would feel really Christmassy. However when you're wearing as many layers as you possibly can and you're still absolutely freezing, no amount of hot chocolate helps! We found we just went from ride to ride as quickly as possible and weren't able to take details in like we usually do. After 12 hours of that temperature we actually felt pretty miserable and I wouldn't want to go at that time of year again. However... this year we went about 6 weeks earlier and the temperature difference was a good 10-15 degrees, I can't believe 6 weeks would make that much difference so hopefully last year was just particularly cold and you won't experience the same as we did! :wizard: Christmas is fantastic whatever!!

We went in the middle of December last year, and yes it was very cold. However, it hasn't put us off, we're going again this year, arriving on 14th December. Just need to take some extra clothes!
