The first in what might be many questions....

What can I expect in terms of weather for the Bahamian cruise at the end of June? Will it be as oppressively hot and humid as it is in WDW during that time? What about the chances for rain?

We cruised the end of June and will be again next year.

We did the four night. It was overcast at sail away with some big rain drops here and there. Very humid the whole time.

The sail away from Nassau...deck party had to be moved indoors because of evening thunderstorms. The day was sunny and hot.

Castaway Cay was beautiful. There were thunderclouds that we watched from a distance, but it never rained.

Our day at sea was very lazy and I noticed the captain steered us away from all the rain clouds. This made for several beautiful rainbows!!

This is the time of year for almost daily (sometimes violent) thunderstorms in the later part of the day. Very similar to Orlando.

Welcome to the tropics - it will be hot as ----, humid, and it will rain.

DH is from Mass. Lived in Daytona and Orlando for over 14 years and never got used to the heat.

Cuised 6/15/03 and had great weather. Overcast upon embarkation but never rained. Weather in the mid-80's, not humid. CC was perfect, did spot some clouds going by, but they didn't stop over us. The last night, it rained in the evening for a short period (I think, the deck was set) and it rained a bit once we disembarked. (When I say a bit, I mean 5-10 minutes) I didn't find it to be too humid -a little more hot in Nassau though-maybe 90.

Thanks for the responses!

I would think while cruising, the breeze would help alleviate some of that heat and humidity...true? I'm familiar with the summer heat in FL, and I can take it.
I guess my real question is, does the heat/humidity and possibility for rain detract from the whole experience as much as it can, say, at the parks? There's nothing as miserable as standing in a long line for Buzz Lightyear in 90degree-90% humidity weather next to some person who needs to be introduced to some deodorant or trudging along the steaming paths of the AK in clothes that are soaking wet because of the downpour you just got stuck in.

In case you couldn't tell, I'm a DCL newbie.

That was my next question. You pay all that money, I think you should get something back if you have to sit inside your little room the whole time because you're in the middle of a monsoon.

Ok, weather aside....what excursions are good in Nassau? And what should I avoid while there? I heard something about taxi drivers who try to rip you off.

Forget the worries about the hot weather....it's 20 degrees out today. That 90 degree/90% humidity sounds good right about now.

I am considering the Atlantis excursion on Nassau. Is this worth it?
