Hi all!

We've planned a spur of the moment trip down to the World for about 4 days, starting this Wednesday night. I've only ever been during the summer and late spring, so I'm not quite sure what to expect weather-wise. The temperature looks good (high 60s, into the 70s) most days, but would anyone recommend still bringing jeans and a sweatshirt just in case? We're also planning on swimming, and given the forecast, it doesn't seem crazy to think that we can. Are we far off base with this one??

Any help or input at all would be fantastic! Thank you!!

If it is 60's/70's during the day, and you plan on being out after the sun sets, definitely bring some warm clothes. Evening temperatures for 4 nights, starting Wed, are forecast at 53º, 50º, 46º, and 41º. All quite cold if you are out walking, standing, etc. When the sun is gone and it is below 60º, in FL, it is very chilly. And all those temps are cold there.

We always go in the fal land we get hot, humid weather but now it is cool aneasy to take the WDW rides in. It can get chilly at night so bring a sweatshirt or light sweater. :surfweb:

Actually, right now Central Florida is under a tornado watch. But I agree - it's great weather this time of year, tornadoes not withstanding.

:thumbsup2

A cold front is on the way. The front is sparking tornado warnings in the area today. Tomorrow, the high will be in the low 70s. By Sunday, the high will be in the low 60s. Winter in Florida is not over!

Yep. I'm at DHS and crowds have thinned out.

OP- I've been here since Saturday. I have not had to put on a hoodie or jeans yet. We did pack them though. We were at MK at Epcot until 11PM and quite comfortable in shorts and t shirts

Thats going to change from what I can gather from the forecast. We leave for WDW (snow permitting) tomorrow evening. I'm hoping for some opportunities to break out the shorts but its looking a little dicey.

It's only supposed to be in the upper 50s to low 60s by Sunday and 40s at night. Doesn't sound like shorts weather to me.

I was hoping the last cold blast would be the last cold blast for the year.

I'm sitting on the Poly beach right now wearing jeans and a tshirt, covered up with a towel. IMO, it has been cool all day with the wind. I'm thinking shorts/long sleeves or pants/tshirt the rest of the week with a sweatshirt for the evenings.

I was hot in the last couple days but cool at night. Capris and tees became capris and a sweatshirt.

Today is a different story. I was ok in capris and a tee until about 4 (except during the storm). Now it's long sleeves under my sweatshirt. I expect there will be much more of thst this week.

We were quite warm in Animal Kingdom today, and after it rained it was even hotter! It finally got cool enough for us to put on sweatshirts around 7-8 o'clock, but still comfortable for me. Sure beats 20's and 30's! 65 degrees yesterday morning felt sweltering lol!!

Thanks for all the responses! We've packed accordingly--jeans, hoodies, shorts, and t-shirts. Can't go wrong I suppose. Thanks again!!!

It's so funny how we all experience the same weather and perceive it differently. I went to the pool with a book around 5. The kids swam for quits a while but I only lasted about 45 minutes before I wrapped a towel around my upper body. At 6:30, we went back out in sweatshirts.

Sounds like typical Florida weather all year round! We're here for the day from tampa.... you can start out the day in sweats. . Then go swimming with a bathing suit. .. and then in the evening back to arrays!

Christmas time was weird... we had two beautiful days. . Then rain for a day. .. then cold and windy... and it repeated that cycle for like 3 weeks

Oh well...you get used to it!
