Just got this when looking for reservations:

Due to dry conditions, there are currently fire restrictions throughout Central Florida. As a result, campfires at our Resort hotels will not take place as scheduled. Other recreation activities will continue to be held. Additionally, charcoal grills, where available, may not be utilized at this time. Propane grills will be permitted for use.

Hmmm, good information to know.

Dang, gotta suck to not be able to use that grill on the campsite to cook with.

It was very dry in March while we were there, I am surprised it took this long for the ban. There was a site about 4 down from us in the 1700 that managed to start a fire in the inner circle of the loop, one of the goobers apparently dumped some ashes from their smoker and it took off. They came very close to having it get away from them and just barely got it out before it spread. I called security and they spent all of 15 seconds talking to them afterwards. I expected a little more of a response after they came perilously close to burning up a bunch of trailers.

If it's that dry, am glad they have a burn ban. A few years ago we were in our favorite loop (100) and several tents with at least 10 people (seemed like more) had a set up there complete with a small swimming pool filled and overflowing with water going everywhere.

They also proceeded to build a huge fire in the grill that was shooting up. We were fixing to leave our site, but actually were afraid to - ended up we called security, then waited until they came, to leave. Don't know what happened, but they were gone when we returned!!

Don't really understand the mentality of some people not thinking of consequences of their non rule following actions.
Have never been in one of their all tent loops, but if this was any indication, certainly would never want to - was one loud screaming match between adults and children.

Any idea if the ban will be lifted after a couple days of rain? Two weeks to go for us and I see rain for next week. Really hoping Chip and Dale campfire will happen while we're there!
