I am packing and it has turned cold here in Washington state. How is it in Cali? Wondering if I need to addmore long pants and less tank tops.

Thanks to any locals who can give me the scoop on Cali weather right now.

It has been pretty much in the mid-'80s here in Beverly Hills-ish area, give or take a few degrees on certain days. It is very sunny and clear outside. Crystal clear blue sky. No clouds or overcast now. The one real way I can tell the seasons are changing (thank GOD! I hate heat) is that the nights are cool. During the peak of the summer, the nights were oppressively hot, but they have been cool lately. October tends to be sort of on the unpredictable side in Southern California. It is always dry, which lends itself to the infamous Santa Ana conditions (wind+heat+dry brush = FIRE) which are pervasive during the fall. Sometimes it gets windy early in the month, and sometimes not until November. Sometimes it will start raining out of nowhere and other times it is 90 degrees in October! It always seems hotter in DLR because the sun beats down on you when you stand in line, and you are surrounded by thousands of bodies everywhere, so I think you will be fine in your tank tops in the daytime, but bring a jacket or cover-up for nighttime. It is not COLD by any means at night, but it has been cool.

And keep checking the 10-day forecasts that Audra posted the link for - I use those myself!

I also found a 15-day forecast at Accuweather: http://www.accuweather.com/forecast-15day.asp?partner=accuweather&zipcode=92801&metric=1

I've got mine set in Celcius, I'm sure there is an option for change to F.

Yes, I think many of the weather forecasts have that option to switch to Celsius and back again to Fahrenheit. I think the Yahoo forecast I use sometimes has both options for weather display, so that is very handy for people traveling here from other countries - or other continents, in your case!

Thanks so much!! We arrive on the 1st. Looks like I'm taking two seasons worth of clothes for ds. We're on a coastal repositioning cruise (Vancouver to LA) for 3 days first, and I don't anticipate that being all that warm.

We just got back from a week at the DLR. It was mid-high 80's the whole time. We left around 7-8 each morning (parks didn't open most days til 9). There was a little bit of overcast in the morning on Tues, so I brought a sweatshirt in the morning, but ditched it in a locker as soon as we got in the park. Other than that morning, no one in our group wore any cold weather clothing.

Capris and a t-shirt all day.

MAYBE a lightweight long sleeves something for the nights after 10pm, but otherwise, it's still warm.

I agree. We just got back and barely needed to add a sweater most evenings.
I needed it more for the indoor attractions with air conditioning than I did in the evenings outside.

It was also more humid last week, during the day, than I ever remember on any visit. Even mid 80's felt hotter because it was stickier. I had denim capris packed & was miserable in them during the day Thursday. Couldn't stand to wear them again, ended up in light cotton capris for the rest of our days.

My 3yr old didn't wear any of the long sleeve or long pants I packed. Day or night. One night just put on a denim jacket over her tank, and another night she didn't need her sweater til almost midnight at park closing.

Have fun. :cool1:

Has it started cooling down at all?
We leave on Monday. My girls Aunt has been sewing them costumes for every day. I think it is going to be to warm to wear them. :sad2:

It is cool and comfortable at night, but it has basically been in the mid-'80s and holding here in SoCal. I checked the current weather forecast for next week on the Accuweather site, and apparently, on October 2, it is supposed to be a high of 85 or 86 degrees:mad: I hate heat, and that 85 or 86 will seem like 90 in Disneyland. Then, the next couple of days after that are supposed to only be a couple of degrees cooler but still in the '80s. But during the worst part of summer, the nights were uncomfortably, oppressively hot too, and now they are very comfortable - Fall is here!

We made the mistake last year of not bringing shorts. It was darn right hot! LOL I'd pack for layers, because it can get cool in the evenings. So some of both types is best.

It's in the low 80's where I live. Wish we'd see some Fall weather, but it usually goes from a Hot summer straight in to a cold winter. No inbetween darn it.

Nevada is not commonly known for being cold - everyone thinks of it as being one of the HOT states. However, I know what you mean about being cold - I recall being in Vegas during February of some year long ago and it was FREEZING and windy and not at all what one expects of Las Vegas!

Definitely has been warm enough for shorts during the day, and then you need a light layer at night (e.g. sweatshirt or light jacket). As usual, it has been beautiful! :)
