We are going mid November to see Christmas early, go to Mickeys party and see the lights. Every other time we have been we expected and got hot weather?
What will we need to pack.
Also is this a good time to go?

Not been myself in November but...

In terms of crowds, one of the best times to go providing you avoid Thanksgiving, around which it will be very busy (Wed-Sunday of that week in particular). Thanksgiving is Nov 27 this year (26th in 2015). I would definitely choose this time of year for park levels.

Weather a bit more variable - not as hot as other months but you should have temps of around 20-22 degrees most days so think British summer days. You can get lucky and have really hot weeks - or not, and have chilly weeks. For packing, you'd probably want a combination of shorts & t-shirts, with light trousers and a few jumpers/hoodies for the evenings. It's also the best time to go for rain - as in, there's not much!

To summarise, I'd jump at a November trip if I had the chance.

Having done November once I would agree with Kath's summary on the weather!

Days are generally warm but you will need something warmer in the evenings and possibly early mornings as the temps do drop overnight.

Crowds will start increasing from the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

The only Christmas thing you will miss will be the Candlelight Processional as that only runs from Thanksgiving through to Christmas. The resorts are in the process of being decorated and are all completed prior to Thanksgiving :goodvibes

i've been lots of times in november....

weather is very variable...

i find it a problem in that i have to pack more than i would in the summer (when you can basically go naked and still be hot)..

you really don't know what kind of weather you'll get in november..

it might be warm, it might be mild, it might be downright cold...

on some visits, it was warm enough to swim..
others, we had on jackets throughout the day...
so....it varies...

the last time i was there in november, it was cool almost every day...not cold, but cool.....
we actually found it to be very pleasant...
it was the first time we were able to go from rope drop to close without feeling tired...
the summer heat is really draining....
this was pleasant...we really enjoyed the parks, never felt like we were dying :)

i remember wearing trousers every day (not shorts), an autumn weight jacket and closed shoes (rather than sandals).....and i was very comfortable..

but as i said, on other november visits, it was warmer than that...(swimming weather)..

so...what to take in the suitcase....a lot more than you'd take in the summer.....

DD and her husband are also going next month...nov. 10th to the 25th..

we always go in November.

The first couple of weeks are normally (I say normally!!! ) perfect weather, short sleeves, swimming, like a hot British summer really. But the further into November the weather can still be hot but can get chilly. The nights again are variable. The first couple of weeks in November we normally (there's that word again!!!) are ok with t-shirts and maybe a light cardi/top. The further into November the evenings can be positively freezing!
Last year we went late in November into December and I really could have done with my hat and scarf in the evenings.

Basically think layers!

The crowds are excellent if you avoid Thanks giving week. The Christmas decorations are stunning and off course there is the MVMCP.

Its by far our most fav time of the year...but we do avoid Thanks Giving.:goodvibes

Thanks for your help, we go home on the 25th so hopefully miss the thanksgiving crowds. We was there at the end of March and the weather was very cold to extreme heat to the 90's which apparently was not normal for that time of year. I would like it hot when I want to swim and cold when doing the christmas stuff lol

Well to be honest that could well happen....good luck:rotfl:

Our last trip was in November and it was warm enough for shorts during the day but at night we needed warmer clothes but we just brought leggings and hoodies in our bags for night time.

That's a good idea. I pretty much exclusively wear dresses so I'll be able to slip a pair of leggings on underneath, should it get cold. I plan on taking a thin cardigan too. We'll be there from Oct 31-Nov 16. :)

we are there this year from 3rd November to 19th November...:cool1:

15 more working days:cool1:

last year we was there mid November to early December and we needed more then a thin cardigan/hoodie in the evenings then...its was SO COLD..
We have rarely ever had freezing weather at the beginning of November in the evenings and a lot of the time we haven't even needed to put an extra layer on...I hope that's what happens again this year...:thumbsup2

I think the only way to anticipate November, December and January weather in Orlando is to expect it to potentially be extremely variable. I do mean lurching from swimming weather (at least for your average hardy Brit), to coats and gloves. That's been my experience anyway. I don't like to visit these three months despite the low crowds because of the unpredictability of the weather.

Pack for every eventuality then! :rotfl: I'm not one to feel the cold much, so I think leggings and a cardigan should suffice. If not, I'm always up for buying a new jumper or hoodie! :thumbsup2

For me, the Christmas magic will make up for the unpredictable weather. pixiedust:

I would concede it's definitely worth doing the Christmas stuff at WDW once. Also you can do whole days in the parks without a break quite easily without the humidity. So it has it's up side :)

We have been about 90% of our holidays the first 2 or 3 weeks of November and its not that unpredictable...its as good as 100% sunny and the day times have always been warm to hot. The Christmas stuff is well worth going for and you'll also get the last few days of the food and wine festival. We have only ever had really cool weather in the day and cold weather at night at the end of November.. Maybe we have just been lucky over the last 20 years!:)

:thumbsup2 The leggings are good because they're not to heavy to carry all day either.
