If I remember correctly, was it hotter than in years past in the parks last September 2018? I know every year is different, but its my biggest worry (other than the downpours of rain).

When we were there at the end of September, they mentioned that it was unusually hot and dry for the time we were there (last week Sept/first week Oct). I think there were 3 days of rain the two weeks I was there and it was really hot overall (90+ all the time).

Yes it was hotter in general through October into November I believe and then after Thanksgiving it dropped like a rock.
It was 32 at home and snowing and 34 and sunny in central Florida where my parents were staying.

However September is still quite hot most years. With day time highs still around 90 for the first half for sure.
If you're concerned about heat then I wouldn't go in September.

Thank you - that's what I remember and the heat isn't so bad, its the humidity with the heat that makes it so unbearable for me. But DH was hoping maybe my memory was over-exaggerated and it "wasnt THAT bad". o_O

It's not just the heat, last year Sept hurricane Irma shut down WDW for 2 days. Trends says chance will go up every year, even if it doesn't shut WDW down it'll still bring a significant storm to make the visit unpleasant.

The first half of September is historically peak hurricane season so nothing new there.

We went this past September for a week and it rained a total of 30 minutes the entire week which was amazing. It was about 175 degrees though.

As others (and the OP) have noted, there is really no way to predict what will happen in September this year. I'd suggest that rather than worry about it you just go ahead and book it. Once the actual trip comes up (say a week before-hand) look at the forecasts for the trip dates and pack accordingly.

We were there Sept 8 to 19th and the temps during the day rang from mid-80's to low 90's. It was hot but we liked it ( or at least I did ).

As far as rain went, we didn't get a lot of it. I remember it being sporadic and only we only had 2 evenings when it was a downpour ( the night we were at MNSSHP and the night we were to see Fantasmic.

We went at the end of Sept in both 2017 and 2018. It was eighth-circle-of-hell hot both years, but we made liberal use of anything that sprayed water, indoor rides, and probably ate and drank our weight in dole whips and Joffrey's cold brews :)

We went late September a couple years ago as we wanted to see the parks for Halloween. Loved them!! The weather was hot and steamy and we did have rain a few times in seven days. It was worth it as Halloween decorations were awesome. I love a rainy day at WDW. The crowds ALWAYS disappear. My favorite memory in over 25 years is a rainy day in Epcot. Our girls decided to make the best of a really wet day and decided to play in the rain. My dh and I figured we'd join them and we splashed our way through the world showcase. One lesson I learned that day, never wear a white t-shirt at WDW. We even had a couple cast members join us and we sang and danced through the rain. Our girls still talk about the day we had Epcot to ourselves. Have a great trip.
