Personally I find the weather at DLR in the summer to be ideal. It is a bit hot mid-day, but usually not very bad. It can get really hot on certain days, but typically temperatures are moderate. On our last three summer visits in June and August it has never gotten above 85 degrees F. Humidity is a non-issue.

June: Average High 80.2F (26.8C), Average Low 60.5F (15.8C)

On occasion, it does reach 100 degrees F (37.8C) at DLR. But overall it is more typical for the high temperatures to be in the low to mid-80’s. Some people are very sensitive to heat, and these temperatures are too warm. But most people would not consider these temperatures excessively hot. Even so, if you follow good touring strategies you will not experience these high temperatures.

HOT. it will be very sunny, so pack sunscreen! it will cool off at night though, which is nice

We were there in July 2005 and it ws blazing hot!!!! Women were taking their shirts off in the bathroom, soaking them in the sink and then putting them back on. Now this July, it wasn't so bad. So the temps can definitely fluxuate.

Just like anywhere, and just like this week in SoCal with all the fires, SoCal can have unusual weather. July 2005 experienced an extreme three-week heat wave. By the time we arrived at DLR on July 31, 2005, the high temperatures over the next four days were 82-85 degrees. I remember reading about the heat wave before we arrived and was glad we arrived after it broke.

If one goes to DLR in the summer, there is a chance it will be really hot. However, the averages over many years lean towards high temperatures in the 80's. One should be prepared for the former but expect the latter.

Oh man! We went in June of this year, and we about died!! It was SOOO hot! Not to mention crowded... but then we are from Washington, and NONE of my family really appreciates weather above 75 or so! We go every 6 moths or so, and thats where we get our tans! We know when we start getting pasty again, its time to head to DL!

While it may be hot, you must know that it is NOT muggy like almost everywhere else in the U.S., which makes the heat easier to handle and doesn't drain you as much if you're coming from 90% of the U.S.

Well - I may not be a good judge of heat since I live in AZ but we ALWAYS went in the summer. It was usually 80-90 & although uncomfortable standing in a sunny line - bearable. When I'm hot I get sick & moody - & I never got like that. If that helps.
