weather in october at DL?

hi there! does anyone know how the weather is in october at DL? are the nights pretty chilly? i would hate to have to wear jackets over our costumes for the trick or treat party! lol

October when we went was great. Warm enough during the day to wear shorts and at night it did get a bit chilly but only enough to slip on a sweatshirt while still wearing shorts. To me Oct/Nov are great times to go weather-wise.

We went in Oct. last year, it rained. But for the trick or treat it was really nice and we didn't even wear jackets.

I believe October is the height of the Santa Ana winds, so prepare for the potential of fireworks cancellations.

I think it can range from very hot (90+degrees) to rainy. So best bet just to check the 10 day forecast prior to your trip.

We went during the fires last ocotober. The crowds were thin and the weather was mid 70's all week. The pools were perfect. It would get sort of chilly in the night but not unbearable. A sweatshirt or pullover was good for us.

Enjoy it....the decorations and the holiday makeover for Haunted Mansion are very good.

It was warm enough for shorts last year. We made the mistake of just bringing pants! Have no idea what I was thinking! LOL But the evenings were cool, light jacket weather.

i was there last october for the first two weeks and the weather was perfect. it was nice and warm all day, and even at night, it was only slightly chilly. i could still get on to grizzly river rapids in the early afternoon and not freeze to death afterwards (like I did this past April)

It's still too early to say what the weather will be like in October. Just over the past 5 years, we've had semi-rainy days to heatwave Octobers. The chances of it being rainy and cold are very rare. It will either be mid 70's to 90's. And as already mentioned, it's Santa Ana winds time too. That makes for very dry warm days.

It can get cool at night, but the parks are only open until 8 on weeknights. If you're going to be in the parks late, put a lightweight jacket in a locker.

October is a fun time, weather is warmer at the begining of the month and cooler towards the end.

just bring some sweatshirts(or buy Disney ones) you can still swim in the days, and Jacuzzi at night

Santa Ana winds will likely kick in, and the fireworks show(s) will most likely be cancelled so don't get your hopes up. I think any winds 4mph and up they cancel the shows.

all in all I love Oct. cause all the kids are in school, and really it's such and off season. that generally it's just the Locals and a few Tourist.


You'll love Oct (Sorry we don't have any Falling leaves or Autumn colors for ya.)

You never know! On year we were there in October and it was over 100 degrees and one year we went and it was cold and rainy the whole time!

In 2007 we were there in October and the area was having those horrible fires so there was smoke and ash everywhere. It was muggy during the day and a bit chilly at night.

I say pack for all different types of weather!

It was amazing. We were there a week before all the fires started last year and actuallly drove down I5 to San Diego where the fires closed the road during the next week.

I agree with the previous posters that Oct. is an ideal time to go. We were there last Oct. at the end of the fires. (Anyone stay at the Fairfield and remember the fire alarm going off at 6:15am due to the smoke in the air from the fires?) The weather is very nice during the day - we wore shorts and t-shirts. It varied in the evenings - a few nights we did pants and sweatshirts and other evenings we wore our shorts and t-shirts. Just take one or two sweatshirts and a pair of pants or sweatpants and you'll be fine.
