Weather in Nov/Dec

Hi

My family will be visiting Maui & Oahu (Aulani) mid Nov to beginning of Dec.

Can anyone please chime in that has been during this time frame and let me know what the weather was like? Did you get much rain? Were the nights cool?

I'm also curious to know what the Ocean temp was like because we plan on doing lot of activities that involve swimming in the Ocean.

I find the weather pretty pleasant all year. Nights might get a little cool but I find the worst of that is February. Rain can be variable.

As for the ocean temp - I swim year round and I find it really nice every day. But, I'm also coming from the north east and I'm used to cold Maine ocean water, so it's all nice for me. I've heard others complain that it's a little cool for swimming, but I've never felt that.

I'm from Canada, so our lakes can be pretty cool in the beginning of the summer (May/June) and we all still swim, so I'm going to assume the Ocean 'may' be a bit warmer??

We've never been to Hawaii, so I'm trying to get a feel for what the weather is like. We're used to the Caribbean weather in the winter (where we usually vacation) so I was hoping weather wise it would be similar.

I've never been to the caribbean, but from what people tell me, it's colder here than there in the winter and those are the people who are surprised how "cold" the ocean is. Personally, I've never felt the ocean water as cold. Ever. It's always walk right in comfortable to me. In the summer, obviously, the water is bath water warm. In the winter it's comfortable. In other words, I've never EVER been cold on the beach here. Ever.

But it's such a hard thing to talk about. Everyone feels different.

I agree, one persons take on 'cold' could be completely different then another person.
The Caribbean is beautiful in the winter. We usually go in Nov and March. Weather has always been hot. I was hoping Hawaii would be the same cause we really want the sunshine. We leave Canada to escape the cold winters where I live.
