Hi All,

Going to WDW 11/30-12/5. This will be our first trip during Christmas time and we are so excited!! Our waitlist finally came thru at SSR!! Anyway, we are just wondering what we should expect for weather. Wasn't quite sure what to pack this time of year since we usually go to WDW in the spring......

Any info would be greatly appreciated.....

Thanks,
HeatherAnne :) :) :)

This is the same time we have gone to WDW for many years. The best advice I can give is to pack for winter, spring, summer and fall. No kidding. It can be 83 one day and 43 the next. We have been there in Dec when it got down to 28 degrees! Poor plants...... The other best advice I can give is....layer...... but it is so worth it!

Pack everything. That's the nature of December weather. You will need both warm and cold weather clothing, and a warm jacket--even a winter jacket--for evenings watching the fireworks. While temps are in the mid-70's on average, it has gone up into the high 80's before. And Florida has the coldest 60 degree weather I have ever seen!!! I had a down filled coat(I'm from Michigan) that I had dragged along with me on the plane, and I felt like such a dork. But I used that down coat nearly evening when we watched the fireworks, and gloves came in handy, too. I'd be laughed out of Michigan for wearing a down coat during 60 degree days there, but 60 degrees is ALOT colder in Florida! :thumbsup2

And don't forget some rain ponchos! Even though December is usually a dry month, we have encountered some heavy rain during our last two December trips.

One of the reasons it can get warm during the day in Florida is because of all the sun, and radiant heat on sunny days. Something you don't get when it's overcast.

What this means is that it might be 80 degrees during the day while you at one of the parks, but as soon as the sun goes down, the temperature will drop fast. I always chuckle at those I see in shorts and T-shirts during the day. Unless they planned on leaving the parks at sunset, or brought other clothing, they're going to get cold.

We always wear long pants, and bring a jacket which we put in a locker somewhere for the day. When it cools down, it's time to get the jackets out.

You might hit 80 during the day, but stay at Epcot to watch Illuminations, and it might be down to 50 by then.

More advice: Don't ride a water ride right before sunset.... :teeth:

Speaking of water, do most of you use the pools in December?

You should expect snow showers during the time that you will be there.
