Weather in Nassau and Castaway Cay in Dec?

I was just wondering what the weather is like in Nassau and Castaway Cay in Dec?? Is the ater still pretty warm???We have a handicapped son who HATES cold water and I am wondering if we should make other plans that do not include swimming when we are in Nassau. I know that In Disney we can expect 70ish tempratures but have not found to much info on the temp aboard the ship and the Bahamas. Thank you in advance.

Of course, the weather can vary from week-to-week and year-to-year, but for what it's worth, I've been on Castaway Cay each of the past two Decembers (I missed out this year). Both years, it was pretty warm. The water was probably in the 70's, the air in the mid 80's by the afternoon. It was warm enough to swim, and plenty warm enough on the beach. Last year, there was a monster thunderstorm in the afternoon, and we were "trapped" at the bar until it blew over. Love those Konk Koolers!

I just got back from the 12/19 Wonder cruise. The weather was very nice. DH and I went to Atlantis and it was warm and a little humid - probably around 80 degrees - definitely swimming weather. Castaway Cay was a little cooler, probably in the high 70's. The water was a little too cool for me, so I stayed out of it. DH went snorkeling and he said the water is cool, but after awhile, you get used to it.
