Is the temp. of the water at castaway cay too cold to enjoy in Jan.?Whats the average temp?What months are considered off season for a cruise?

We cruised in December, and have been to the Bahamas in January. I don't like cold water, I am a Florida girl. My husband and boys both snorkeled at CC in December. They also swam. There were people in the water, but I have to say the majority were out of the water. We noticed that it seemed to be mostly kids, with a few dads swimming. Moms were, for the most part, sun bathing! On our trip to the Bahamas in January, the water was too cold for me. I think our boys only went in the ocean once, but did enjoy the pool. I know other people have been to CC in the winter and had no problem with the water temps. I think it is just personal preferece. Hope that helps!

We cruised the Wonder once in January (jan 5 - 9, '03) and the water was too cool for us to enjoy at CC.

We swim on the coast of maine so to us 68 degree water temp is warm. We loved CC and the water. It wasn't too cold, but it may be our bodies are used to it being chilly. We also went in January and were going to take advantage of being able to be in the water no matter what. Air temperatures were very warm. 80's most days, high 70's at CC.

We were on the Magic WEstern in early January '03 and CC was cool. The water was too cool for me but there were people in it...if you take a look at our pics...you can see my teens bundled up....the breeze made it feel even chillier. Key West was also cool but Cozumel was hot and Grand Cayman was too windy for the ship to anchor so we had an overnight in Cozumel onboard the ship.
