How is the weather in January? I thought that it was cold in May when we sailed, but mostly from the wind when hanging out by the pool.

Thanks!

We went this last January and the weather was great. I believe it was around 80, but it was windy. No rain, clear blue skies all the way.

We sailed January 22, 2005 and couldn't have asked for better weather. It was high 70's 2 days and in the 80's the rest of the time. Sun all the way. The seas were a little rough the first night, but other than that smooth sailing. Our DD 4 and DD 2 swam every day in the pool and even swam at CC. I went in at CC, just so I could say I swam there. It was definitely on the cooler side. All in all a great trip for us and I would book January again.

We were on the 4 day in mid Jan this year and it was cold and windy. We heard the week before and the week after was beautiful. It was 50 and rainy in WDW and while it was about 60 on the cruise, it was sunny and we still had a great time.

We have cruised the last two Januarys. We have had great weather each time. Weather in the mid to high 80s at each port and when we went to CC it was high 70s. Could swim on the ship and each port we were at.

We also cruised this past Jan. on the Wonder. The weather was nice for us. It was warm enough to be comfortable in summer clothes, but it wasn't anything too hot. The only time we had bad weather was the morning that we disembarked, and it was rainy and cold then. The water had gotten rough, and I remember thinking that I felt sorry for the next group going out.
If we ever get to book again, I think January will definitely be one of out dates to pick from!

I was also on the Jan 16, 2005 4 Nighter on the Wonder. DW got queasy during the first night, seas had to be 16 feet, there were many feeling ill on-board I am told, and since we left in those drizzly conditions with winds that were consistly gusting to 25-30 knots, not surprising. But by 3 or 4 am, water was calm and DW woke up all better (sleeping in since were not going ashore in Nassau made the day better). Sunny but cool the rest of the trip, did not swim at CC but some refugees from the snow belt did, and could you blame them?

And yes, the luck of the draw in january is that the week before, and after, the Bahamas were much warmer (one of our senior partners was there the week before, and a client the week after; oh well--finally proved that a less than optimal day on DCL was still far better than any day at the office). Same week in January 2003 we did the Eastern, and again at CC the water was chilly and mostly snowbirds from parts north were the braves souls in the water, but otherwise a lovely 70ish day on the island.

Yes it was rough that first night. My dd threw up in her fruit bowl at dinner. While we recovered from the waves, I had lost my voice from the nasty weather at WDW and pretty much had to scream at everyone the whole cruise. We did find the only warm place at CC though. On one side of the Heads Up bar. It was sunny and the bar blocked the wind, so dh and I sat there for HOURS that day! All the conch coolers soothed my throat and I did manage to find my voice on the last day when I jumped up to scream BINGO! during the jackpot round. :Pinkbounc
