We have booked to go to wdw in december, cant wait! .Does anyone have any experiences of the weather at this time of year?

Be prepared for all types of weather in December. It can be warm and sunny during the day but can be very very cold early in the morning and at night - especially when you are standing around waiting for parades, Fantasmic etc.

Take hats, scarves and gloves and wear plenty of layers that you can remove as the day heats up and put on again as it cools - we put these into lockers as we strip off to save carrying them around.

We have been lucky enough not to have any rain during our December trips but be prepared for this also.

Hope this is of use.

Hi there Welcome to the dis

I have been once in December and I have to say we were very lucky with the weather, definatley warm enough to swim and wear shorts and t.shirts, and we came home with a lovely tan, we did need cardigans and sometimes jackets in the night and early mornings. However I have heard other people say when they went it was really cold. So I guess we were very lucky.

Where are you staying?? We stayed at the All Stars and I loved it in December. :goodvibes Happy planning, Feel free to ask if you need any advice, people on here are very friendly. :goodvibes

ETA: Sorry I can see now from your Signature where you are staying :goodvibes

Welcome to the dis - as Camac sayed the weather can be mixed in December. I have found that some days can be shorts weather and other days long trousers!!! It does get chilly at night so bring lots of layers!!!! What date are you going in December?

hi,we are going on the 2nd dec for 2 weeks,we are really excited :) cant wait to see the wdw xmas decorations

Hi, We went in December 2002 and we were unlucky with the weather. It rained at least half the time we were there. It was our daughter's 10th birthday whilst we were there and it poured with rain all day. Her suprise present was a day at discovery cove a few days later. I couldn't believe the change in weather, it was glorious, really hot and sunny. I have been told since that it was one of the worst December's Florida had seen for a long time and not at all typical. December is such a magical time of year to go and I would certainly go back again in December in a flash pixiedust: As has been said before, be prepared for all weathers. :sunny: :umbrella: :cold: :sunny:

hi jockey  we are planning to go to MVMCP but we are not sure how to get tickets for it and how far in advance we would have to get them, can you help???

Chip n dale fans last time we visited in December there was lots of availablity for MVMCP. You can purchase them when you get there either from a disney resort or from one of the parks - you get a slight discount if you purchase before the event! You will also be able to order in advance(later in the year) from the Disney.com website but I think there is charge of $10 for shipping!!! We will purchase our tickets when we get to WDW :teeth:

hiya i was speaking to my brother who lives in florida at the moment he says the weather is ok in dec we can come back with a tan!!

we are going out 16th dec coming back 2nd jan 2006 its going to be a magical christmas

We were in WDW from the 16th until the 29th December last year and we quite a mixture of weathers.

A few rainy days
A few cloudy days
A few days of sunshine.
and some quite windy days too.

Temperature wise, mornings were generally chilly, low 50s to mid 60s.

During the day temperatures ranged from mid 50s to high 70s. On the warmer days it was very nice in the sun.

Late afternoon temperatures tended to fall most days and once the sun had gone down it got quite chilly. There was the odd night were it did stay mild, but not really warm enough for shorts and t-shirts. There were also a few nights that were very cold, especially when it was windy as well - on these nights it was sweatshirt and coat weather. If you are feel the cold then even a hat and gloves wouldn't be over dressing.

During the day you need to wear layers that are easy to remove/put on. You can always dump excess clothing in the park lockers.

Evenings you will need at least a sweatshirt and possibly a coat or jacket too.
