Weather in April?

Hi all,

We typically vacation at WDW in August. I have learned over the years that the forecast is highly variable in the summer months. But, does that hold true for April?

We are arriving in WDW on April 8th. The forecast looks rainy!

Have you found that forecasts for Florida in general (not dependent on season) are variable or that they stick rather close to predictions?

Thanks so much.

I lived in Pensacola for 8 years, not quite the same thing as central Florida, but my experience is that it is going to be a fairly standard temperature every day, 80s. If it rains, it will probably only do so for an hour or so. That's Florida for you. Where we were, it would rain almost daily, but it was there and gone before you knew it and you couldn't even tell it rained an hour later, the same was shining, blue skies, and not even a drop on the ground.

Again, that's my experience with the Panhandle, not sure about Orlando, but it's probably similar. Probably less rain if I had to make a guess. Pensacola/Mobile gets a lot of rain.

We have been several times in April and the weather is much less variable than in January-March, it is typically high 70s to low 80s (although sometimes it can be a good bit warmer but the humidity isn't bad) and rain isn't a significant problem, maybe some here and there but no weeklong washouts and we did not even have daily rain. We found it an optimal time from a weather perspective

Weather in April is fantastic. Days can be warm or hot even, but the nights and mornings and just beautiful and it does take some time to warm up in the day time. I love love love going in April. We also didn't encounter that much rain when we were there in April 2015. One morning storms came in right at park open and another day it was absolute deluge when we went to Epcot in the PM. If it does get HOT you'll probably get the standard afternoon thunderstorm that rumbles through from the Gulf of Mexico and then it is over and cooled off a bit until sunset.

We went in late April 2015 and it was gorgeous. There was one very hot day, and one day with rain in the morning. Other than that, warm but not overbearing, mornings on the comfortably cool side.

I don't remember what the forecast was though.

April tends to be pretty consistent. Expect highs in the low 80's. It will be very Hot from about 2pm till 6pm. But not the humidity you see during summer months. Try to take a midday break or do AC activities during this time. Bring lots of sunscreen and apply often as the sun is very strong. This is dry season for Florida till mid May. You may get some rain if a front comes thru but very little rain this time of year. Evening will be very nice and may even need a light jacket or sweater if wind is blowing. Lows are usually in the high 50's- low 60's so it is chilly in the morning and evening.

That is too far out for an accurate weather report. They have no idea if it will rain April 8, it is March 21. I think 3 days out the forecasts are fairly accurate. I did a test 1 year we were traveling. I looked at the 30 day forecast. Everyday I recorded the forecast for our week vacation. The forecast changed for our dates constantly and the forecast the day we left for vacation looked nothing like the 30 day out or 2 week or even 1 week out forcast. So dont stress out that it will be rainy :)
