My husband and I are planning a trip with some friends in the beginning of April and I was wondering if any one had been to Disneyland in April and remembered what the weather was like. I dont know what to expect:confused3

Just wanted to add that rain is more likely this year than in some past years since El Nino is back. April can be hard to predict since it can still be a little chilly or it could be hot or it could be rainy. You'll get a better idea as your dates get closer. We went at the beginning of April last year and it was in the mid to upper 70s, I believe, but who knows what this year will be like with all this crazy rain we've been having.

Even SoCal residents don't know what to expect in April! Like the PP said, it could be warm, chilly, rainy...there was a week last April when it was 90-100 degrees!

Like others have said, you never know! I have been at the end of February and it was 75 degrees and we were in shorts and end of May it was rainy and chilly a couple of days. In March it was rainy and cold. I always check accuweather.com before we go anywhere so we know what to pack. I think summer is the only sure thing weather wise.

I suppose. But highs can be either 70 or 100+. So still some variability. Chance of summer rain is very, very low though.

In any case, asking what the weather is usually like vs. what it could be like are two different things. Yes it may be 100+ in the summer but the chances are low. It could be a 40 degree high in December but chances are low. The OP should realize that averages are just that - averages. But like everywhere weather has its own mind. :)

I totally agree. I certainly wasn't recommending summer. As you say it can be VERY hot. I would always choose spring and moderate weather if I had my way, but be prepared for anything weatherwise. :)

I responded in this thread the way I did because there are so many weather threads here - at least one per week - and when a bunch of people respond and some say "it was cold" for them in April and others say "it was warm", I always wonder how much that helps the OP. To say "it might be cold but it might be warm, good luck!" just seems unhelpful.

IMO weather data over many years is the most helpful guide as long as one understands it is based on averages. It is the same reason you like Spring visits - not because it is always moderate but it usually is. Then you adjust from there.

I like summer visits and in all our visits over the last 10 years we have never experienced a heat wave. I think once it was 90 degrees but usually it is low to mid-80's. IMO perfect. I did visit DL about 20 years ago when it reached 100. And still had a blast. But that was BK (before kids) and I did not have to worry about melt-downs. :)

And I have never in my life visited DLR in the rain. Once we were planning a day trip about 10 years ago and rain was predicted so we went a day early and avoided it. :cool2:

Thanks guys I guess we wont know until it gets closer. Heres hoping for sunshine but not too hot:cool2:
Weve been in summer when it was scorching many times, and we just went in December and the weather was perfect! So hopefully the good weather continues!

We went the first week of April once and we were wading through the flooding walkways of Main Street in the cold rain. We had rain for two days and then decent weather the rest of the time, but definitely not hot.

We've also been in early May a couple times and one time was perfectly warm and calm, and the other was very hot and got a little windy too.

We're heading down in April this year too, so I'm hoping for nice weather, but you just never know!
