Weather Forecasts and Pool Time

So the last two years we’ve planned to have a day where we hit all the water rides in a row, get soaked to the bone and then go back to the resort for a swim. Last year it ended up being a little difficult to get dinner afterward. We didn’t want to go into the parks again and everywhere in Citywalk was slammed with hour long waits (party of 5, Mon of Thanksgiving week). This year I was ready. Made a reservation at Margaritaville (kids must do) for the same Mon so we’d be able to eat in CW after the pool.

Then weather forecast. Sat and Sun were predicted to be 80, Mon 74. Even though I’ma life long northerner I still like it warm when I’m swimming. So we figured we’d change plans to go to the pool on Sun, go back into the parks for dinner after (no reservations available to MGVL at this late date). We’d keep the Mon MGVL reservation and just leave the parks early on Mon to eat there. Decided this yesterday. This morning the forecast dropped for Sun to 74. I know FL weather is notoriously unpredictable and will change constantly. But I found it funny that all I have to do is think pool and FL drops the temp on me. :rotfl2:

Yeah, unfortunately you won't be able to make more solid plans until a few days to the official date. I finally got around to going my first AP day coming back this Saturday, because it was finally cool enough for me, but there were so many times beforehand where I'd check a week out and it'd seem nice it cool, only for a day, or two to go by and it would show it kicking up to the 80's again.

You could just stay at the pool and have dinner there! If it warms up, that is. We’ve done exactly what you have planned but just stayed at the pool for dinner and a movie. I’m not sure where you’re staying but I’ve had great food at RPR and SF poolside and ok food at HRH and PBH poolside.

Good to know that you can make reservations for the City Walk restaurants, headed there the week after you.

Some of them. Not all of them. It seems like it’s only an issue for larger parties or at busy times. Even when we went the first week of Nov we had long waits. But others are able to make same day reservations as the pp said.

That’s a good point. That could be a better option than going back to the parks. We’ll be at PBR so there are a few quick service options.

And today, Sun and Mon, the 2 days that would be easiest for pool days are down to 70. Sat and Tues are still 80. Seriously, FL? I know my phone is listening to me and all but I didn’t realize it was reporting to Mother Nature. :duck:

Yep! I just checked a few days ago and I think Sat and Sun this week was both 80 degrees. This morning I checked and it's now saying 80 for Sat, but Sun for a high of 69.

The Arctic vortex strikes again.

When I did my Christmas Disney Cruise, it was fine until we got off the boat. The south had gotten hit with snow, and FL was super cold.

It’s always risky going to FL at the end of the year.
