DW and I and a friend of ours are planning a trip to Disneyland. It will be the last week of April or the 1 st week of May. Was wondering what the weather will be like. Will we be able to wear shorts or bring the long pants? And are these weeks a good time. We will be in the area for a week. And our 1st time to Disneyland. We go to WDW 2 to 3 times a year and want to see the park that Walt built.

Late April is probably a better trip than early May. May is when colleges and some schools start to end classes for summer break, so crowds should be slightly less in April. Weather in spring here is really unpredictable, so you will probably just want to wear pants and layers up top. Short sleeve shirt, then bring a sweater and light jacket.

Overall this is a great time to go because summer crowds won't be up yet, and the weather won't be too hot or too cold!

Easter is April 24 next year so I'd expect spring break crowds in late April. Ours in Nor Cal is April 16-25, I'm not sure when SoCal's breaks are?

This is no help but yes, you will either need shorts or long pants (or both). What I mean is that it's really hard to tell what the weather will be like at that time of year. The weather can literally change overnight. You can look at average temps for that time of year but really, there could be a heatwave or it could be unusally cold. You'll have to wait until closer for your trip. You will, most likely, need a sweatshirt for the evenings though since it gets cold once the sun goes down. Last year we were there for 2 days in April and one day we wore our sweatshirts and jeans the whole day, the next day it was hot so we all had on shorts and t-shirts.

OMGosh I totally forgot about Easter and the crowds! Thanks for catching that! :thumbsup2

I guess May would be a better bet then. If it's early May then there won't be too many kids out of school yet so it's no biggie.
