What is the weather generally like in Feb. for HHI?? I am figuring it will be way to cold to swim..lol... But, anything has to be better than RI in the winter.. :sunny:

January and February are our 2 coldest months of the year here. I would say that swimming would not be the greatest but you are probably more cold tolerant than we are! You never know - mabye there will be some unusually warm days when you're there! Have a great trip!

Typically, it will be cold. Not as cold as where you live, but still cold. BUT it seems lately, the weather has been doing all kinds of strange things and we've had some very warm weather even in February. Here in NC, we had a very mild winter and they are predicting the same this year.

I think you're right about it being too cold to enjoy the water (except maybe the hot tub). :goodvibes We visited HH in February and spent time on the beach (wearing jeans & sweat shirts ;) ) but had a great time with frisbees & kites. My son especially enjoyed flying the kite and since the beach wasn't too crowded there was plenty of room. I would like to return during the warmer season, but the resort is very relaxing so I think any time of year would be great.

Enjoy your trip.

We went to HHI once in February. When we were checking in, the CMs were telling us how beautiful it had been the previous week, lots of people swimming in the pool. However the week we were there was cold, rainy, miserable weather (well, I thought it was miserable weather until last week, but that's a different story). And of course, the day we left, it stopped raining. So apparently sometimes you can swim in February-you never know. They did offer many activites even though it was off season, and most all the resturaunts were open.

I must've been there the week before Simba's mom ;) When we went, we had gorgeous weather. It was so warm, in fact, I had to buy summery clothes because everything I brought with me was too heavy! The ocean water was too cold yet to swim in, but we swam in the (heated) pool and even went for a dolphin watch -- no jackets required. Good luck!

HH in Feb sounds like Calif beaches in June or July. That water is always cold. Fog so thick on the 4th of July you can't see the fireworks. God I miss Calif.

I have been to HH 3x, Spring & Fall. While the temp was warmer than in Ohio, it was cool for HH. And everytime I have gone, the locals told me how nice it was days before I got there. :rotfl:

The problem with going in the colder months is it is so frustrating when you walk down by the ocean. You see how pretty it is and you really would like to sit out on the beach, but it just too cold. This happened to us last March. We tried sitting on the beach several times, but gave up after about 30 mins. or so. We decided then from now on we would only go in the warmer months. We only have 80 points at HH, but 83 points will get us 6 nights in a Studio in late May or early Sept.; so that is what we're going to do from now on.

Honestly, sitting by the ocean is not a huge deal for us - we live in RI, right by the beach.. so, that's not really the reason we are going there, basically, it is to see an area that we have never been to, and get away to somewhere a lil' warmer than new england in Feb! LOL And my mom has a timeshare with marriott, and we just happened to be lucky enough to get in with the DVC in HHI for Feb vacation week - so we grabbed it!! LOL, it really was just a spur of the moment decision..LOL
