Sorry, this is surely repetitive but I couldn't find my answer after looking quite extensively on here. My Disney book gave me the general idea but I'd rather ask on here and get some more answers. :) How is the weather in early Feb? It seems the crowds are lower before Pres. Day in Feb. but my concern is if it's too chilly to use the pools at that time of year? Pools are a MUST! I'd love any replies from those who have gone in Feb. especially the earlier part of that month. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!

It all depends... this year when we went (we went the week before Pres week) it was quite chilly when we arrived and ended up wearing our sweatshirts all day and there was no way we would go swimming, but within 2 days time the weather totally changed and we were in our pool quite a bit.

At least for us it's been a hit or miss thing...

It all depends on what the jet stream is pushing towards Florida. We too were there the first week of Feb 2009 and there was frost on the pool chairs some mornings. We had a group of kids there from kentucky for the Youth Educational Series and it was warmer in Kentucky than in Florida, but it was how the fronts were working out. I have seen other years when we were in Florida and laying out on the beach. You may not know until a few days before you leave, but where else wouuld be better than being at WDW.

We've been going in February for the last several years (the middle of the week before President's Week and then that whole week of President's Week) and have always been able to swim. Just not every day!

A couple years the weather was incredible and we were able to swim almost every day.

Last year we got there and it was cold, but the next day or so it warmed up and we swam.

The year before though, we were swimming one day and then it was 50 degrees and windy the next. We had just gotten to the Studios and had to go back and change.

Because swimming is very important to us as part of our escape from the cold New England winter, we just roll with the weather. If it is supposed to be warm, we may change our park plans and swim that day instead. But we also go for at least 11 days so we have the time built in to do that.

Have a great time! After all...any time at Disney is great!

A few years back, I took my boys (DH doesn't "get" WDW) for a long weekend in January. We took lightweight jackets and sweatshirts, headbands and magic gloves (the stretchy kind).

During the day, we wore our lightweight jackets, and at night, put the sweatshirts under the jackets for added warmth. Pulled out the gloves if our hands were cold during the parade, or while eating our Dole Whips!

The boys did manage to swim in the pool at POR - the pool was heated and it was a short run back to our room for a hot shower.

ANYTIME at WDW is great! Have fun and hug the mouse for me.

We went during the last week of January earlier this year and had wonderful, sunny days, around 75 degrees by midafternoon most days. We wore sweatshirts to the parks a couple of mornings, but found them to be too hot once we got off the buses and started walking.

The pools are heated, but the wind was the problem for us. We went to Blizzard Beach one day, which turned out not to be the warmest day of our trip unfortunately, and had to leave after a couple of hours with the little one's teeth chattering. That said, if you're from a colder climate and pick the right afternoons then the pools will be great fun.

We always go on our spring break which is typically end of Feb/beginning of March. We typically get one or two cool days, but overall nice weather. Guess it depends where you're coming from too. We're from Montreal, Canada and while our summers ARE usually hot, our winters are cold do going down to Florida and getting even a little warm weather is great by us.

Weather in early Feb is rather cold. Take a jacket and gloves with you, you will need them. Swimming is out for us when we go in Feb. way too cold.
