I'm wondering what the weather is like in Orlando the first week in December? Will we be needing to pack shorts or will jeans be in order? Does anyone know the average temps that time of year?

:sunny:

You'll probably need both shorts & jeans! Weather can vary quite a bit at this time of year. I've been there and it was probably 60's high and I've been when it was 80 for the high. Nights definitely get cool(40's and even rare 30's)so pants/warm jacket would probably be welcomed in the evening. Not sure where you're coming from, but as I'm from New England so I almost always try to wear shorts, no matter what, and even get in the pool as I know it's going to be a lonnnggg time before I do that again!

The weather at that time of year in WDW is variable. We've been going then for about 20 years now and have experienced warm, shorts wearing weather and cold, wear everything you brough weather - sometimes in the same weekend! So, plan on bringing layers that you can add/shed as needed.

Thanks! We'll be coming from the Midwest so we'll welcome the opportunity to wear shorts if at all possible! We were there in October of 2000 and one morning it got down to the 40s. We were NOT ready for that one!!!!

We will be travelling from an area where it will be below freezing in December. Our summers are around 70-80"f on average. I'd say for us personally we will be wearing a lot of shorts. Newfoundland, Canada here by the way. (tripped booked Dec 3-10).

WE have been there this same week for a few years..we have experienced both very warm days and very cold days..and we come from way up North where winters are downright nasty.

In 2003 we got off the plane and froze to death...it was in the high 30's that night. I thik there was 1 day we wore shorts in the 10 days we were there. That being said, the year before, we wore shorts during the day all but 1 day and pants in the evening.

Layer, layer, layer!! Like everyone said, it varies. We had a day that was in the 80's (I still wore jeans and wasn't overly hot) and days I would wear my tshirt, sweatshirt, adn windbreaker to stay warm. The night we went to Fantasmic I was pretty much certain it was going to snow. IT WAS SO COLD!!! Bottom line, be ready for everything! :)
