We are thinkig of taking our first trip to MK at this time. I know Orlando weather is unpredictable, but do you think we will be able to swim this time of year? Which Disney hotels have heated pools? Thanks!! We are from Chicago so we are used to cold but like our vacations warm!! Thank you everyone!!

im from buffalo and the weather during this time of year is usually goo for us, low 70's

We are going on our first trip Jan 27 to Feb 3. We live in Iowa so anything above 20 will feel just fine....lol

A friend of mine who lives there said the weather is between high 50's to mid 70's for a usual pattern. Once in a while it dips down more or is even warmer.

Hope that helps!

That is the time we usually take our annual Disney vacation. Most years it is in the 70's during the day, but one year it was in the 30's for a few days! So there are no guarantees.

Most pools seem to be heated, but the air is often too cool for us to swim. But we aren't major swimmers anyway - we'd rather be in the parks or playing mini-golf.

It is a great time of year to go, crowds are usually manageable.

I think all the Disney property pools are heated. I know for a fact the the Animal Kingdom Lodge pool was heated. We swam at the end of January last year. It was "cool" (that is to say "cold") when we got out. But I was uncomfortably cool upon getting out of the local pool here IN MISSISSIPPI...IN JUNE! When the humidity is low and the wind is blowing, it's cold when you're wet.

I would not let weather deter me from making a trip. In fact, I will be there the third week of January 07.

Ok, thanks. I am just worried a little because my kids are 4 and 5 and we will need a lot of downtime. I 'd rather be swimming than sitting in a hotel room!!

I was there at the CR this January. The weather was always in the 70s. The pool was heated but not extremely warm. We swam the one day it hit 80. FYI, we didn't have much down time but that one day. Our kids were 2 and 5 then. It was cool and crowds were low so we could take it easy in the parks. Only suggestion is that they can't really fall asleep in the rental strollers too easily. But at 4 and 5 it may not matter. I would rent the double or maybe 2 singles (small difference in price) We ended up with 2 singles because they were fighting when in the double so they had to be separated :teeth: Then our youngest would fall asleep and we had to carry him back to the resort, so we bought a cheap stroller and it worked great for him. But anyhow, if you don't mind a bit of a chill when getting out of the pool then it should be okay. But also, it can be unpredictable, 30 one day, 80 the next.
