Hi everyone! We are heading to WDW Sunday for our 30th wedding anniversary! Lots of rain in the forecast! Should we still go or book for another time? We’ve been many times before, so we know what to pack. Got ponchos and shoe covers ready! Thoughts?!?!?!

Happy Anniversary!!

Only you truly know the answer to this and how weather may affect your trip and touring style. You seem to have experienced Disney in the rain in the past and are prepared. Knowing what you do and how you are prepared, will you enjoy your time in the parks? It’s truly only you who can answer this question.

Go! Have a great time!

We always do the same thing… watch the forecasted weather as our trip approaches. But we laugh now when at first rain is forecasted, since that leaves us better off because inevitably the forecast always changes lol. More seriously though, even if this forecast comes to fruition, Wed and Thursday look to be absolutely gorgeous, and most of Monday should be fine.

Enjoy your anniversary together ❤️

Happy Anniversary!

The forecasts usually change, at least a little. If you’re prepared, you can still have fun in the rain.

Just an FYI at Epcot. Dh and I got soaked from rain and the temps got cool. One of the stores at the UK pavilion has sweat shirts bogo! $35 for sweat shirts was a bargain.

We are also arriving this Sunday and nervous about the rain. There are 6 of us celebrating my mother’s 70th birthday! We are still coming, but I am worried about how to enjoy the Flower and Garden Festival and Epcot in the rain. Our trip was pretty much planned for eating and drinking around the world during the festival since that is my mom’s favorite park 🫤

The food stands have been open in the rain. If there’s lightning, they probably close til it’s safer.

While it’s been so dry in Florida. It seems when it does rain it’s when my dh has has off to go to a park. We’ve grabbed food a few times and headed over to tables under cover. The picnic tables near the restrooms at the American pavilion. Those tables are under a roof. The Odyssey building is another with indoor tables to bring food to. Communicore has some indoor tables. Connections has lots of tables.

If you look a little deeper into the forecasts, although there is a chance of rain each day, the quantity of rain is very low. I just checked the forecast on AccuWeather about an hour ago and the day with the highest rain quantity was only a third of an inch. For example, here is Sunday. The chance of rain looks high, but the amount of rain expected is small.

Tuesday is the day with the highest amount of rain expected. A 92% chance of rain sounds really bad, but the quantity expected is only a third of an inch.

These rain amounts would not keep me from going to Disney. I would probably take an umbrella or poncho in my bag, but I would definitely go if I had plans.

If you can easily switch to the next week, I guess I'd consider it because why not- but any further out you're risking making your situation worse. On average May is noticeably wetter than April and it gets worse from there until oct-nov and even in Oct you get to have the hurricane discussion...

To tag onto what @fla4fun posted when we see rain in the forecast it's easy to think rain all day but at those amounts it does not seem likely it's nonstop rain. You've been to FL, you know the drill, random showers or downpours. Bring shoes that can handle getting wet, poncho/rain jacket of choice, maybe an umbrella if it isn't windy- but remember if there is lightening let the other tourists be the lightening rods!

I drive my wife crazy watching the weather forecasts about 10 days in advance of our trips 😆 🤪 I tend to be a glass empty type while she is glass full. Often the weather turns out better than forecast and we just adjust as best we can to have a great time regardless. I say Go and have a great time
