35 more days to go, woo hoo! Anyway, we'll be in WDW 3/5-3/12 (which most of you probably already know b/c I've posted that so many times on here!), and I'm starting to get worried about the crowds and weather. I thought the crowds wouldn't be too bad, since most college breaks (from my area) are the 2nd and 3rd week. But now I read on here about a some type of competition going on? Will a significant amount of people be in WDW for this event?

Also, I'm starting to think about what I should pack, to make sure I have everything (I hate last minute shopping trips!) Will I be wearing jeans or pants for most of the trip? Or should I plan on packing a pair or 2 of shorts and bathing suit?

One more ?... We'll be traveling with friends, and my one girlfriend wants to make PS for the castle... I know it's expensive but is the food worth it? Is it too late to even get PS?

Thanks:-) :earsboy:

The parks will most likely be very crowded due to spring breaks everywhere. The weather can be anywhere from low in the 30's to a high in the 80's. I would pack pants & 1 or 2 pairs of shorts. Yes, bring your bathing suit. While I think 70 is too cold to swim, you may not...I would also bring clothing that can be layered. As far as the castle, I have had breakfast with Cinderella there. I didn't think the food was worth it. You are paying for the atmosphere. You could always go for lunch & order a la carte :wizard:

Hi,
I will try and help you with a couple of your
questions. We went in early March 1999 for
our kids spring break. The weather for us was
fine. We wore shorts during the day but brought
light sweats to wear at night and it worked
great. Your mileage may vary so keep an eye on
weather.com the week before you go. It got
more crowded as the week went on, but it
was doable. Plan, Plan, Plan.
If you are going to eat lunch or dinner you can
most likely get a ressie, just call now. The food
is good. It is not awesome but you are mostly
paying for the location.
I don't know what competion is going on while you
are there so I can't comment on that.
Good Luck

We arrived on March 9th last year. We had heavy crowds after the first 2 days. Very heavy crowds. Our weather was a little bit of everything. In the evenings it was pretty cool and long pants and sweatshirts were needed (we left a raging snow storm at home and still thought the nights were cool). A few days we went to TL and it was right around 80. Then there were days that it only made it right to 60-- so we really got a mixed bag of weather.

We were there 3/10 - 3/21 last year and as far as weather, the first evening and day were a little cool, so we wore capri type pants, but no jackets, and shorts the rest of the trip. We swam everyday and had beautiful weather. As for crowds, MK was where it really seemed crowded, but manageable. A lot of TX has their spring break the week you're going, but use fastpass and you'll be fine. We always go in March and I pack mostly shorts, with few long pants/capris and a jacket. The evenings can get cool enough for a jacket.

There was a cheerleading competition at MGM over the weekend, but we would have never known except that it was being held in the Indiana Jones stadium one evening and we stopped to watch a little bit. It was nothing like the horror stories I've heard about other competitions.

We are going for Softball Spring Training. I have a list of 35 other institutions that will be taking part while we are there. Keep in mind that this program runs from the end of Februrary to the end of April. While I don't think that alone will fill the parks, that is still about 1200 people or so that probably would not have been there otherwise. Also I know college spring break takes place here in RI that time also. We'll be there between March 9 to March 14. Short I know, but I'll take anything at WDW. :earsboy:

We left on 3/6 last year - and on 3/5 alot of college/spring break people started to arrive. I would not worry about them though - I think if any college kids who wanted to party and drink would chose a destination other than WDW!

Have a great time! The weather was much warmer than we expected it to be last year - cool at night sometimes, though!
