I have two big events coming up in April. One is my son's Catholic Confirmation, and the other is a work event (a college fair) that I help to organize.
I was thinking that I would like to buy a nice spring pantsuit to wear for both occasions, but so far, I haven't found one that I like.
I did buy a very nice blouse the other day. It's made of a georgette-like fabric with slightly ruffled collar and cuffs, and pearl buttons up the front. It's a floral print of sketchy-kind-of lavendar and gray flowers on a white background. I am thinking that it would look nice with ivory linen slacks and cream shoes.
So fashion consultants of the Dis, is it gauche nowadays to wear white (or off-white) slacks and shoes in April? Do you think this outfit sounds dressed up enough for these events? Or should I keep searching for a true suit? The blouse would pair nicely with a small crocheted jacket--I've been seeing lots of these in the stores--instead of a blazer. I'm not really seeing blazers in the stores either. I don't think they're "in" this season and maybe that's why I'm not seeing many suits.
