After our ceremon we are having a dinner at Ohanas do you think it would be best to change, what did other brides do who just had a dinner instead of a reception.
Also has anyone had a dinner at Ohanas after their wedding?

I wore my dress for dinner at California Grill, then on our Wishes fireworks cruise, and still kept it on when we had drinks at our resort!

I plan on wearing mine as long as I can! lol

I will be wearing it for our lunch at Kona Cafe, our pontoon boat cruise and our dinner at Victoria and Alberts!

Haha well I think I am gonna do it now I will need to add another hour of the limo, cuz I don't want to be riding around in a bus. LOL.

Seriously, Rebecca, the more I hear about your wedding plans, the more I see that we have in common!!
From getting married at SBP in December to a reception dinner at Ohana, to going to the parks afterward- sounds like we're on the same page!!

Anyhoo, as for my two cents- you should totally go to dinner in your wedding dress...Ohana has such a great atmosphere and I think that being in your dress will only add to the excitement.

However, I don't know about you, but my big concern is whether I'm going to change out of my wedding dress in between dinner and going to MK, or between the ceremony and dinner.......I mean Ohana is only a monorail ride away from MK, so having to go back to the hotel just to change before we go to MK seems silly to me. I'm stuck! Ah well...we'll work it out :)

That is so cool!!! What day are you getting married? Oh BTW I sent you a PM!

If we weren't planning dinner and then the parks immidately after I'd wear my dress to dinner, but we plan on going from one to the other and I'm sure I won't want to go change.

We are getting married at SBP, have lunch at Sago Cay at the GF and then picutures at POR. We are going back to the Boardwalk and then meeting a couple of hours later for dinner at the Yachtsman. After the Yachstman we are going into epcot.

I plan to change my dress for dinner, but only because I won't have time to change before we go into epcot. I even thought about a Illuminations cruise so i could keep my dress on lol!

I want to wear it for as long as possible. If I thought I could leg it over to the Boardwalk from the Yachstman and change in time I would definitely wear it :thumbsup2

I plan to wear my dress for our late lunch after the wedding, whether it's at Kona Cafe, as currently scheduled, or at Mangino's at SoG. They aren't sure of the operating hours of Mangino's on our wedding day due to some refurb work, so we have Kona Cafe booked to be sure we have somewhere nice to celebrate after the wedding. :yay:

We'll probably drive back to Boardwalk and change into our park clothes there before heading to MK for the rest of the day and night. Maybe take some photos at Boardwalk before changing clothes, since it's such a beautiful place too.

I know! Isn't that awesome??! We'll be getting married December 3rd, which looks to be a week or two before yours...what's your wedding date?

Our wedding is December 11...just under 2 months away! You'll have a really lovely wedding at SBP! It's such a pretty place, with a gorgeous view.

The answer to "should you wear it or not" really depends on the the type of dress and how comfortable you'll feel in it.

If its a large dress you might feel uncomfortable due to the fact that Ohana’s is usually very busy at dinner time. Some tables are very close and its just busy period. However, if your dress is casual, that is, with no train and no extra material dragging, then I would totally keep it on. I once saw a couple who had just gotten married. The wife had this gorgeous white linen beachy dress…it was perfect for Ohana!!

I'm quoting myself just to make sure I wasn't misunderstood.

Just emphasizing that it really depends on how comfortable you will feel. There are some who may feel more comfortable without a large dress in a busy environment. But for those of you who are not, then by all means, you should enjoy Ohana's with your dress...because again, the most important thing is that you feel happy & comfortable...it was just another perspective ladies:goodvibes

I took this into consideration when I bought my dress. We are going to California Grill, and I wanted to be able to wear my dress that night! I think it will be fun to be able to wear my dress during dinner.

For anyone who ate there on their wedding night, did you feel odd in your dress?

I didn't feel odd at all :thumbsup2 I had a loop added to my train so I could hook it up to one of the bottom buttons, so that made it easier for navigating tables and going to the bathroom etc.

If you want to see pics, they are on one of the last two pages in my PJ and TR :flower3:

You answered my question about if they would let me wear my veil! Thanks!! I am super excited. That was my favorite place when I went before, and we got a seating very close to wishes, so we should be there at the right time :banana:
