My family is going on a wish trip for our 8 year old dd in April. Mickey loves Cinderella and would love to wear a Cinderella dress if I could find an inexpensive one in her size. But how comfortable are the little girls who wear the costumes in the parks? Does it become annoying to them later in the day? Just things I need to think about before I spend much more time looking for one for her.

Thanks!

Many girls wear costumes at meals and even all day. It really depends on the dress, the child and how hot it is out.

What we usually do is put the costume over their park clothes or pack a change of clothes in a bag.

A couple of times my older DD did wear her comfortable Alice dress to MK after the Alice tea party at GF and she got a lot of attention. One couple we didn't know wanted a photo with her, and at our resort, the Contemporary, a CM came running over asking for DDs autograph!!

Have fun planning!

DD wore her dress for a day in Dec. She loved the extra attention (maybe a bit too much, she commented the other day after a man opened the door for us that he didnt bow to her like they did at disney) She had a great time, we did have other clothes in a locker as I figured she would want to change but she didnt. She wore her tennis shoes to be comfy and had a great time!

I got her dresses from a couple of diff places (even though she wore only 1 we had to pack them all :rotfl2: ) 1 came from Dis store, 1 from ebay, 1 from kmart?, and a garage sale. For a older child (not a toddler or preschool) you might be limited to ebay or the disney store (I used disney store on line)

I love the fact that just about every hotel room in America has a small coffee maker. :cool1: I am never sure, however, what type of brew I will get. So, before my last trip to Orlando I bought a package of flat bottomed filters that fit into the small coffee makers the hotels have. I grind enough coffee for a pot and put it into a ziploc with a filter. I pack one ziploc for each day I will be gone.

Since this is a bit more mess for housekeeping then the filter paks that are typically in the room, I remove the used filter after I am done and zip it into the ziploc.

I just love my coffee in the morning! :goodvibes

You can get one at WalMart for less than $20. I've seen kids in them all day when we've been there. My DD doesn't keep hers on all day though. We keep clothes in a locker when she wants to change.

I see girls in princess outfits in the parks constantly, mostly in MK. It's not a big deal, as long as it's an outfit that won't cost you a fortune if it gets torn or stained during a normal day in the parks.

Many parents put the kids' swimsuits under the princess dresses in hot weather, so they can play in the various fountains when they get overheated.

Thanks for all the info. A wonderful person here on the boards is sending me her step granddaughter's outgrown Cinderella dress for Mickey to wear. Thanks, Poohbear7! Mickey will be so thrilled!!!!!!!!!! I think we'll put shorts and tank top under the dress so it can come off when she's ready to play.
