Wearing Her Wedding Dress Twice.

Hi, has any brides done this? Dd is getting married on the Disney Island, the when we arrive home we are having a huge party/dance.Could or should she wear it for the after party.
At first she wanted a simple dress so she could (trash) it. Basically wear it in the ocean for pictures, but now she is having second thoughts.She found her dress today and it was a little more money then she thought it would be.

Yes - many brides do this! In fact, I'm starting to wish I'd worn mine to my at-home reception...

ETA: Also, if the dress is more money than she wants to spend, has she considered trying to find it elsewhere for less? Like at an online shop or on eBay - or even at a different store? I got mine on eBay and saved almost $800!

I plan on wearing my dress at our home reception. I want to give our reception guests to feel like they are apart of the entire experice. I feel bad that we cant afford to have everyone go with us to Florida so we want to make it seem like the reception is immediately after the wedding ya know!

Check House of Brides online. They have most dresses and they are much cheaper than in the stores. My dress was 700 less through House of Brides.

I wore mine so family who wasn't at the wedding could see it in person and not just in pictures.

I wore mine too! It wasn't even an option for me not to. I had a pretty formal reception back home. I did, however, buy a little white lace sundress to wear in FL for when I went out to dinner after my ceremony. I kept my veil on but changed dresses. I wasn't too sure I'd be able to keep my dress clean for 2 meals!

I asked this the other day and it just so happens my mother is really wanting me to wear it again so I probably will... ! I did get it much cheaper at a different store (my dress) by just calling around and getting quotes!!

I wasn't going to but then one of my good friends said to me..."Why don't you just wear your wedding dress?" And then the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea.

Like Lynn said, then people will get to see you in real life, rather than just in pics! Now I just have to convince Eoghan to wear a suit!! (In the middle of June!)

I'm wearing mine at home, and getting my hair done again - any excuse to wear it more than once is fine by me!
