Wearing glasses on rides

Can you wear glasses on the thrill-type rides? We haven't been to Universal in years and at WDW I typically carry a small drawstring backpack and put my glasses inside a case in the backpack when needed (and I can carry them onto the ride with me).

At Universal I know you have to leave your things in a locker for certain rides and I am so nearsighted that it would be difficult to have to walk around without my glasses (and if I take them off on the ride I would still need the hard case and somewhere to put it).

Thanks for any info. anyone can provide!

You maybe able to on some of them but some rides like gringotts spiderman transformers and Kong all involve 3D glasses as well

Thanks Edward90, that's good to know. I can usually manage to balance the 3D glasses over my prescription ones, although the 3D ones end up a bit lopsided

I use croakies for glasses and it secures them fine

Croakies or similar straps can be fitted tightly to the back of your head so no fear of losing your glasses while on a ride

If a person needs glasses to see clearly, don't put them in a locker
It's tough to walk around without them after a ride

I have worn my glasses on all the thrill rides and never had a problem - and like you I put the 3D glasses over the prescription ones.

Although the croakie idea is a very good suggestion - better safe than sorry!!

I think it depends on how your glasses fit. I wear mine on everything, but they are well fitting, and snug to my face. I like the idea of the croakies though. (just because I typed I never have trouble, which means the next roller coaster I get on is probably going to receive the gift of my glasses!!!)

My husband and son both wear glasses and never had an issue on the big coasters or 3D rides........the 3D glasses just go over the top of your own.

Croakies sound a good option if you're worried.

Thanks everyone! Glad to hear that I can leave my glasses on! I will definitely go out and get Croakies to wear too :-)

We were there last week and I wore mine on all the rides. They were even fine with the 3d glasses. I asked on the coasters and they told me if you put your head down and they don't fall off you are good.

Thanks mkwj, I just tried putting my head down and my glasses stayed on! I'm going to get Croakies too for peace of mind. Thanks again for sharing your experience.
