We will have a car - any non-Disney dining close by that you can recommend? Or even a must do? (nothing fancy - cheap to moderate)

Thank you!

With SOOOOOO many options in the parks, hotels and DTD I never understood the desire to go off site for food unless you are on a budget saving mission or have the must go to place to experience (like In-N Out!).

Sorry to go off topic for a moment, but I've seen multiple people talk about going to In-N-Out. Is there something special/different/unique about the one near Disneyland? There are several near where I live and they're pretty much the same. I know it's a regional chain, so is that the draw (i.e., it's something different for folks that don't live near an In-N-Out, rather like Rainforest Cafes or Earl of Sandwiches)?

It's definitely the regional draw..I have friends who lived in the bay area or visited and make special trips JUST for In n Out , admittedly I only had it since 2009 since meeting my hubby but now it's nearly tradition to stop on the way to Disneyland at Santa Nella.

And it's delicious , now I'm craving animal style fries..NOM.

There is a Red Robin about 1 1/2 miles away from DLR. We enjoyed that just because the prices weren't inflated and we filled up on their bottomless fries and only ate half our entrees. We then ate our leftovers at the hotel the next meal. Pretty good bang for your buck! It's a great option for us budget-wise.

We really liked Ruby's Diner. Its like a 60's sock hop type of old skool diner. Really cool atmosphere and meals are pretty good sized & tasty. For pizza I would try Pizza press.

We usually walk to Mimi's since it's not outrageously overpriced park food and we can eat something reasonable wholesome.

Anaheim Packing District is the closest "foodie" destination to the resort. Probably the most famous "touristy" restaurant in the vicinity is Mrs Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant.

I have friends who like to fit in a stop at Sonic to DLR and LV trips. I'll usually go along and at least get a drink, because it's kind of fun to get the car side service once or twice per year. Although probably not terribly exciting if you live near a Sonic.

There's also Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner, which I know a lot of locals who do an annual trip there. And Medieval Times and Pirate Adventure dinners are more like ahybrid meal/activity.

If you're looking for close activities to add to a meal, try Discovery Cube and Bower's Museum.

We enjoyed Red Robin and Cheesecake Factory. Also have enjoyed Mimi's in the past but didn't go there this trip. We were unimpressed with bubba gumps.

We've been to many In-N-Out locations (several by our house, too) and, hands down, the one by DLR has the friendliest staff ever (and pretty much every In-N-Out has friendly staff). We enjoy going there just because of the cheerful, energetic vibe.

To the OP: is there a particular kind of food that you are seeking? Any budget or dietary restrictions? Since you will have a car, you might want to try:
The Original Pancake House on Lincoln -- total fave!
Little Saigon in Westminster -- many good Vietnamese restaurants
There is a Korea town in Garden Grove -- it's small, but has some good restaurants
Jaegerhaus on Ball has good German food
Little Gaza near Ball and Euclid has good Middle Eastern food

Check Yelp to see what interests you in the Anaheim area. The photos can be very helpful.

Where is this located? I remember Spaghetti Station on Ball Rd. We used to love that place then it shut down.:sad1:
There are 2 in OC, Fullerton and Newport Beach. There's also one in Riverside near Mission Inn. There are more, but those 3 are closest to DLR.
