We were robbed!

We literally use Chain link around all our Xmas metal sculptures as they are expensive.....we once saw our reindeer moved about 5' and then spilled over on the side (someone prob tried to take it and then realized it was chained ):lmao: WOuld have liked to seen their face... though my dh may have been hard to control with a thief caught red handed!

OMG! Our friend did this up north (MA) after they found one of their handmade Christmas cut outs stolen. A neighbor down the road called and said it was thrown in his front yard-probably kids on a rampage. They chained them all down. One snowy/icy night he was up late and heard noise outside. He peeked out the window and a teenage girl got out of a car, grabbed one of the lawn ornaments and ran. Well since it was chained down she did a face plant right on the icy lawn and started howling all the way back to her friends in the waiting car. :rotfl:

We have had a problem with this the past few years in Celebration. The local teens go around and slit peoples blow up lawn things and pull their lights down. Someone caught 3 of them red handed one night and called their parents. The parents denied the whole thing and defended their looser kids. People will just stop putting things up. What a loss. I NEVER got the destroying other people's things even when I was a teen. I never would have hung out with losers like that.

Sorry to hear about your theft. As a PP stated maybe motion detectors will help.

We called the police and filed a police report. You can tell what a nice area we live in since the police had time to come over to our house and even interview our neighbors! ;)

The police stated that they had not heard about a rash of lawn buglaries but they would keep their ears open. Unfortunately, none of the neighbors saw anything.

Hearing all of these stories makes this sound much more common than I had previously believed. I think we will definitely chain up our reindeer this year. Also will keep an eye out around the house. None of the windows are at eye level so no one can see in directly and there are curtains/blinds on most windows.
