Ok, really, who are they kidding?

The guy says, "Come to a free breakfast. We are NOT a timeshare, we are a Vacation Exchange program." Then he hands me the sheet on what "gift" I can get for attending.

WHY LIE?

We are not going, btw. We paid for our week outright and have no obligation to attend.

BTW: We are staying at Florida Vacation Villas through SkyAuction for $199/week. I like it! It is a 2 story, 2 bedroom, 2.5 bath. Older place, but very roomy.

As Mother said, there is never such a thing as a free lunch--in your case, free breakfast. A sales pitch is a sales pitch no matter what they call the free meal. Better things to do than sit in a room for 3 hours listening to them when you are on vacation, IMO.

I may have to take back my like of this place. Last night we came home to 4 police cars and a forensics van in the parking lot and something taped off in yellow.

No idea what happend.

Oh, we are fine. We came after the biggest part it seems. Our guess is that it wasn't homocide, but no way to know. I am assuming someone died if forensics was here.

I don't listen to any sales pitches on vacation. I did though look at the DVC to see the model. They really pitch that "Welcome Home". Heck I am told Welcome Home at the Values.

My advice, enjoy your vacation and skip their free breakfast and gift.

They don't use yellow tape for a break in. They are lying to you too. lol. We got back from Disney in July and we stayed at the Cypress pointe grand villas and they did the same thing. Tried to get us to go to a "free breakfast or lunch" and then proceeded to tell our kids they could play guitar hero while they spoke with us and our kids were like yeah and I said like no. You guys have guitar hero at home and we are on vacation and we have a complete schedule while we are here and no extra room for a "free breakfast". Sorry but no thanks and then we left, went to our room and did not answer the phone. After that we never had any problems.

You may want to re-think turning them down...maybe they have a policy of "come to breakfast or ELSE"!!!!

That is what DH said too! As soon as he saw the Forensics van he said, "Uh, oh, looks like we better go to that time share presentation!"

I think you are right. I can't see tape and a forensics van and so many police cars just for a break in.
