We were Grand Marshals!!

I thought I had planned, researched, investigated, found out all the hidden wonders but I had never heard of being a Grand Marshal for the parade!! We were there from 09/08-09/16 and stayed at POFQ and we on the (free) dining plan.

We had the best time! Since it was after Labor Day...it was like we had all the parks to ourselves! It was amazing! So nice to not have to wait or even use the Fast Pass!! (We had to use the Fast Pass once--for the new Action, Lights, etc show at MGM though.)

The dining plan was a surprise to my husband and boy did we get our monies worth!! It is just the two of us & we tried all sorts of new desserts or appetizers (because we could!!) and I kept track of all totals....$787.62 for FREE!! AMAZING! What a great, great deal for everyone!!

I was a little worried about the weather but it was perfect! Hot, humid, Sunny! LOVE IT!

On our last day we were leaving our Crystal Breakfast w/Pooh when we were asked to be the Grand Marshals! Oh what a great time! We got ears, a photo & a certificate! (Sorry if everyone knows this, but I didn't so I keep blabbing about it!! )

Used EA for the first time. That worked out well too!

Over all A+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ trip (as always) and of course it hurts to be home, but we have memories & photos!!

I know (now) how lucky we were! Being at the right place at the right time doesn't even do this justice! It was so great! I did get some photos & my camera takes videos too so I had it in my lap recording all the people waving to us!! It was really fun!

I'm not savvy enough to post the photos on here though! If you know how I can do that.

That's just wonderful about your trip...congratulations on being Grand Marshalls!!! I know how exciting is was for you because we were Grand Marshalls for the 3:00 parade on August 30th!! It was the highlight of our week. We were on Main Street just after opening and as we walked up to one of the photographers to request a family photo, Dean from Public Relations, walked up to my husband and asked us if we would be at MK for the day, etc. I was ready to cry on the spot. At one point near the castle, the fireman gets on our car, and announced our family and where we were from and a family watching the parade yelled out where they were from (a neighboring town). I still get teary-eyed remembering that day and how we all felt.

I know how you feel. We were chosen by Dean several years ago to be GM. I felt like such a celebrity. Now every year we go and find Dean to say hello and I get a hug. He is such a wonderful man and so well suited to doing what he does. That's one of the highlights of our trip. Find Dean and get ahug. LOL
