We were Grand Marshalls!

I couldn't believe it, but we were chosen to be Grand Marshalls of the Share a Dream Come True Parade on March 28th!!!! It was so cool to ride in Walt's car and wave at everyone, and hearing your name announced in the MK! Once in a lifetime-so much fun for anyone- but especially big Disney freaks like us. Good Luck to everyone- hope you are chosen one day!

How did you get so lucky to be picked? Please let us know your secret!!

Right place at the right time! My husband and dtr started a conversation with a CM on Main Street while I was getting coffee in the bakery, he turned out to be the magical one who gets to choose, and asked them if they would like to be involved! No secret- just lucky!

They treat you like royalty- they kept thanking us for "giving them our time"
like we were doing them a favor!!!! They give you mouse ears for everyone with your names on them, and the Main Street photographers take your picture during the parade, and they give you a complimentary pass to get one at the photo place. They also give you a certificate that states your were the Grand Marshalls that day- we will never forget it. They told us the car we were in was Walt's and he used to drive it down MainStreet in Disney Land, the CM told me I sat in the exact seat he was in!!!

there were 3 of us- they pick family of 3 or less to ride in the car because that is all it holds!

Ever since I have been going to WDW (since 1971) I have been amazed that average people like us get to do the things we do. Now I'm going to walk around main street and talk to every CM I come in contact with. "Go back in that store, honey. I don't mind waiting out here for you..."
