We Went to See Mic-key M-o-u-s-e ... Again! - Sept '12 TR [COMPLETE]

Whoo, came over from my PTR and read your plans - I thought I changed my plans a lot! :rotfl:

I can't wait to find out what your surprise is! You're so lucky - my DH is a great guy but not into surprises...he would never think to do anything like that!

Less than 3 weeks until both of our trips!

Look at you getting into full trip mode:thumbsup2

Yeah I totally get the kohls thing, I used to shop there all the time, but now I have a hard time finding stuff that's appropriate for a forty something year old woman to wear.

Yes to the bag issue too:confused3 I end up with everyone's crap, I feel like a pack mule. But if I make them carry it, something will get left somewhere.

EXACTLY! This is how I feel! I can't seem to find a store that carries clothing for women my age. It's either cut up-to-there stuff ... or old lady stuff. :rolleyes1 I guess that's why they call it "middle-age" - I'm not old, but I'm not young anymore either. :sad2:

I'm sure everything will be ok. Maybe they just couldn't get the best shot? Try not to worry and just remember, you're going to WDW soon!!!

Thank you for the reassurances. I am figuring this is probably what it was and trying to keep a postive attitude. It's a good thing I have WDW plans coming soon - lots to plan and do!

*Nods* This...

Or if you have a mole or other such thing on or near it could have shown up as something strange. They would much rather be safe and do another one. *hugs*

I have *tons* of moles, so I'm wondering if she just missed one when she was doing all the marking and stickering. ::yes::

 I am sure everything will be fine.

Thank you. I hope you are right.

Chiming in here about the mammogram - do not worry!

A few years ago my doc found lumps and I go every 6 months to get them checked out, even though they are harmless. It could very well be the images they got came out weird and need to be retaken or could just be a very thorough (which is a good thing) doctor that wants to double-check. Keep us posted here - you are among friends!

Thanks. I will definitely update after we get back and I go for the follow-up.

:welcome: Oh yeah, I make changes a LOT! I think next time I do a PTR, I'll title it appropriately to warn those who might want to read (or avoid)!

I just hope I'm not building up the surprise too much in my own mind, KWIM? As was mentioned previously, I could be thinking "ring" while he's thinking "keychain keepsake to commemorate our trip"! :scared: :crazy2:

Can't believe we're less than three weeks out! :yay:

It was a busy, busy weekend. :faint:

After hitting several stores and not finding anything, I finally resorted to going to a second-hand shop to get some Summer clothes. Now THEY had a TON of stuff. :thumbsup2 I was able to find two tops and two pairs of shorts, so I now have enough stuff that fits that I won't have to go naked for one day OR do laundry while we're there. :teeth:

After several days of wearing/exercising in them, the Brooks shoes were not working out. Had to take those back to the running store and get something else. I'm hoping the new shoes will be better. Such a pity, too - the Brooks were so cute! The new ones are admittedly ugly, but hopefully they won't hurt my heels and arches. I knew I couldn't tolerate that walking for hours and hours. I actually managed to convince my DH to get fitted for shoes, also.

Went and visited with family for a little while yesterday, then did some more shopping. DH also worked on the porch reno a little bit - we're hoping to have that finished by this weekend.

He said he was glad to go back to work today to get a break and rest a while!

11 days until we can check-in online. I can't believe how fast this trip is coming up! I feel so unprepared! :faint:

19 days until vacation, 21 days until WDW! :Pinkbounc

I'm counting down until online check in too - 9 days for me!!

Yay for getting summer clothes!

Have you decided whether you are going to do online check in? I'm still undecided. LOL!!

That's too funny about your DH going back to work to relax. He sounds like my husband.

I hope you can get your sneaker situation figured out! Uncomfortable shoes are the WORST!

That really stinks about your sneakers:sad2:. At least they're working with you to get you what you need. Sorry to hear they're ugly though. That's ok, I still wear my mary jane crocs in the park, they're ugly too, but it's all about comfort when I'm in wdw. I hope these work out much better for you.

That's awesome that you got some new clothes, no one wants to be naked(you could probably be banned from the parks for life for that:joker:) or do laundry on vacation:crazy2:. You're getting so close now!!

Wahooo! YOU are getting close! :hyper:

I'm still firmly undecided about checking in online. DH says it's up to me - whatever I want to do. I'll probably wait right up until the last second to make up my mind - that's what I tend to do.

I hope you can get your sneaker situation figured out! Uncomfortable shoes are the WORST!

I walked twice in my new shoes yesterday - once here at home, and once in the park with my DH. My feet were sore last night, but not like they were with the Brooks by any stretch of the imagination, so that's improvement. Keep your fingers crossed they continue to feel good throughout our trip!

I hope these work out better, also. And oh yeah, they're ugly. :crazy2: But as you said, it's about comfort, not style. Still though, I've been wondering why I couldn't have both? :scratchin

I was wondering if anyone had noticed the "naked" comment! :lmao: :teeth: I absolutely hate doing laundry while out of town - makes me feel like I might as well just be at home. :sad2: I always try to pack more than I need, but this year it was tough to find just enough. I may pack a few Purex all-in-one sheets just in case. :sad1:

------------------------------

Heading off to the treadmill now. :thumbsup2 I'll be doing an update later today with some photos of our MNSSHP t-shirts, my newest pair of shoes, and something else we bought for the trip. Stay tuned! :goodvibes

Finished up my treadmill workout for today. :thumbsup2 The new shoes are definitely more comfortable, and I got some non-cotton moisture-wicking socks last night. Hopefully the new socks will help keep me from getting hot spots everywhere this time around.

Speaking of the new shoes, here they are in all their (non) glory:

e3f0bc79.jpg

And yes, before you ask, I took the photo with my foot still in the shoe!

They are Mizuno Wave Rider 15's. Before visiting the running store, I'd never heard of Mizuno ... or Brooks for that matter. I personally think they are ugly as homemade sin. :crazy2: I tried on about a dozen more pairs on Sunday, and these definitely felt best. Some of them are just too squishy inside, KWIM? These are much stiffer than the Brooks were. The guy at the running store told me if these don't work out, there is no time limit on when I can bring them back, so that's a huge plus. Makes me feel better about spending so much money. :scared:

As far as MNSSHP goes, we discussed it and we're nixing the face paint. We decided it's gonna be hot, we're gonna be sweaty ... and likely anything we wear on our face is going to end up a smeary mess by the end of the night. Not to mention having to get back to the hotel and wash it all off before going to bed .... Nah, that idea just didn't appeal to us. As lurkernj noted in her PTR, I want to look cute, not creepy.

We bought our t-shirts from the Disney Store. They didn't have the one DH wanted in his size, so it had to be ordered. It finally arrived yesterday, so now I can post pics! They didn't come out very clear (stupid camera :sad2: ), but here they are:

Mine:

DH's:

Here are the links for the Disney Store with clearer shots:

Mine: http://www.disneystore.com/tees-clothes-women-my-beloved-sally-and-jack-skellington-tee-for-women/mp/1303773/1000228+1000765/

DH's: http://www.disneystore.com/whirlwind-jack-skellington-tee-for-men/mp/1308294/1000228+1000764+1000038/

As I'm sure you can guess by now, we were going to do facepaint for Jack Skellington and Sally ... however, as mentioned above, I just think the possibility of it getting messed up during the party outweighs how cool it would look. I may look at DTD while we're there to see if I can find any accessories to go with our t-shirts, but I doubt I'll bother.

Look who else we found while we were at the Disney Store:

a99e7dc0.jpg

We're going to bring them along to see if Mousekeeping will move them around the room, pose them, etc. :teeth:

Sorry the pics are so huge, as usual. It took forever to get the photos to load to Photobucket today, and by the time I got finished I was ready to throw the laptop across the room at one point! :badpc: I didn't bother to take time to re-size them as I figured that would take another hour. :rolleyes2

I started making a list of our last-minute to-do's last night. There's so much still to get done. I'm kicking myself now for not doing more sooner. I still need to get some more travel Space Bags, too, along with an SD card for the camera. I think that's the last two things we need to purchase. I certainly hope so - the amount of money we've spent pre-trip this time is just obscene! :crazy2: From new shoes to new clothes to backpacks to ... oh just everything you can imagine ... thank goodness I decided the luggage could make one more go-around. :scared: I'm going to be watching for sales, though, because there's no way they can make another trip after this one.

Speaking of another trip, we've definitely decided not to go back to WDW until 2014, no matter what the bounceback offer is this time. I am having surgery next year (nothing to do with the mammo, this is another thing entirely that has been in the works for a while), so we'll need more time to save before we make another visit to the 'World. We'll probably go somewhere ... Tennessee maybe or Michigan ... somewhere we can drive and just go for a long weekend that doesn't cost quite as much. I'm really okay with it, though. I know I need the surgery, and it is more important to me at this point in time than a vacation. Not to mention the fact that DH will have to take a few days off work while I recover, etc.

10 days until online check-in. :hyper: I'm still undecided as to whether this will benefit us. I know it will be faster, yadda yadda. But what if we hate our room assignment? Then it ties up stuff for everyone behind us. I hate to inconvenience anyone else. I'll probably wait until September 7th to decide!

18 days until vacation, 20 days until WDW! :hmghost:

Cute shirts! I can't wait to post pics of mine!

With online check-in, I don't do it until the day before we leave. I make my requests via phone and then I send in a fax 3-5 days before check-in. I know a lot of people say they don't read the fax, but I've done it our past 2 trips and all of our requests have been met. If it's not broke, don't fix it right? Anyways....the room assigners don't assign the rooms until 3 days before check-in. Don't do online check in before that time!

I really like the shoes! But I'm a Georgia Tech yellow Jacket fan and often want to find stuff to coordinate with my white/gold I wear to the games. :rotfl2: I'm kind of geeky...
Your trip is coming up SOON!!!!:goodvibes

Those sneakers aren't so bad! And if they're comfortable, well what can you do.

Lol thanks for the shoutout. I love your shirts, too:thumbsup2. I just kept thinking about that coveted picture with the dwarfs, and us looking that, and it wasn't working for me. Same with the sweating and makeup, by the end of the night, we'll be a mess. I feel much better with my tshirt decision.

Good for you getting you treadmill in:cool1:

I love your idea about the Minnie and Mickey in your room. I might have to try that:scratchin

I had such a hard time with photobucket too today, and I've looked at my ptr a couple of times and the size hasnt been the same:confused3

Just caught up again on your report. I missed that you replied back to me about being your WDW stalker. ;) Nope, we are staying at WL so, you don't have to worry too much:rotfl: Funny DD & I bought the same exact Jack shirt for DH to wear to MNSSHP on the 18th too! I have some Jack lounge pants & tank that I will wear & DD is gonna wear a dress with a bunch of villians on it-it's just too hot for costumes. I still have so much to do too.

:goodvibes on waiting for your test. I can't stand that and really feel for you. I had a new Dr that wouldn't give me my results over the phone but couldn't get me in soon enough but "we gotta get you in here soon!" Amost 2 weeks later she wants to know why my blood pressure is through the roof??? Hmmm??

Love your shirts! I used to work MNSSHPs when I was a CP and they were always so much fun. The parade was so cool too, and I'm usually not a big fan of parades. That's also a great idea with the stuffed Mickey and Minne. I hope you'll post pictures off all the setups Mousekeeping does in your room.

I honestly like your shoes. They aren't as bad as you were describing. I was picturing some terrible looking things. LOL! You should see mine. They are a awful red color and match nothing I own. LOL!!

Love the costume ideas. Can you believe that I've never seen that movie? Yep, that's right. I'm such a bad, bad Disney fan. LOL!!

I think it's a great idea to bring the Mickey and Minnie. I love it when Mousekeeping poses and moves the stuffed animals. Makes more magic for everyone.

*hugs*

Whoa! Loads of visitors! :wave2:

Thank you for the tips about checking-in. I still just don't know what to do. :confused3 I have heard about sending a fax before and have the info for FQ, so perhaps I'll try that route and see what happens.

I really like the shoes! But I'm a Georgia Tech yellow Jacket fan and often want to find stuff to coordinate with my white/gold I wear to the games. :rotfl2: I'm kind of geeky...
Your trip is coming up SOON!!!!:goodvibes

Well I was buying the moisture-wick socks the other night at Dicks and sure enough they had these Mizunos right there in stock, so if you as a dedicated GT fan should want to buy them, check there first! :teeth: Seriously, they were the same price I paid at the running store, too. ;)

Those sneakers aren't so bad! And if they're comfortable, well what can you do.

I've been having such fun with the photos in your PTR, I kind of hope it doesn't get fixed! :lmao: Makes it kind of interesting to peek in over there and see what size the photos have morphed to this time!

The mini-plush M&M we picked up were 2/$14.

 I was telling my DH just now that you bought the same shirt, and he goes, "So someone else will be wearing the Jack shirt on the same night? BUMMER!" Uhhh yeah. I didn't have the heart to remind him that Disney probably sold about a gazillion of those Jack shirts, so he may run into several people wearing them! Sometimes ... well, what can I say?!? :rotfl:

Thanks for the good wishes on the test. You know, I talked to the doctor on Monday about some other test results and he NEVER EVEN MENTIONED the mammogram ... so I'm really thinking it's just the center not getting a good view the first time around.

Thank you! We're so excited about doing the halloween party. I was thinking about getting us special bags to bring in also, but DH has all but nixed that idea. :rolleyes1 He wouldn't even look at the ones at the Disney Store, party pooper!

If Mousekeeping does special things with M&M, you bet I'll be posting photos of it after we return. ;)

I honestly like your shoes. They aren't as bad as you were describing. I was picturing some terrible looking things. LOL! You should see mine. They are a awful red color and match nothing I own. LOL!!

Seriously? I can't believe so many of you like those shoes! The silver/chrome look is what turns me off so much, I think. :crazy2: You know, now that you've posted about your red ones that you gotta post a photo in your own PTR ... isn't that a requirement somewhere? :teeth:

 Well, would it make you feel better to know that WE'VE never seen Nightmare Before Christmas either? We just thought the shirts were uber cool. Guess we're bad Disney fans, also!

I was discussing online check-in with DH again last night, telling him I was still unsure, what did he think, etc. I also told him I thought we would have to specify a time for arrival. The Look went across his face, and up he went and grabbed The Papers. He said whatever happened, as soon as we got checked-in, he had to leave for a little while. Go somewhere by himself to "take care of something."

Being nosy like I am :teeth: , I said, "What happens if our room isn't ready when we get there? What am I supposed to do while you're gone?" Knowing full well I could swim or walk around or whatever. :teeth: He looks puzzled for just a second, then says, "Well, I could drop you off in Downtown Disney so you can shop a while, but I gotta be by myself to do something."

Later, we were getting ready for bed. I'm in there reading on my Kindle and for some reason he still hasn't brushed his teeth. Normally he beats me to the bedroom, so this is unusual. I notice the livingroom light is still blazing, so I get up to see what's going on. Here he was, sprawled out on the livingroom floor with the laptop! The second he saw me coming, SNAP, he shut the lid real quick-like! :hyper:

"What are you doing?" I ask sweetly. :lovestruc "You do know it's almost Midnight, right?" :teeth: "Oh nothing," is his reply, "Just looking into some stuff for work."

Yeah, okay, whatever! :thumbsup2 This from the man who NEVER uses the computer, and certainly doesn't need it for anything related to work! (I know what else you're thinking it could be, and I'm positive it wasn't THAT, either!)

I must admit, his lips have been sealed and The Papers safely hidden away for quite some time now. But I think once he gets whatever this is planned and the details solidified, little hints are gonna start spilling out! ::yes:: They have to, because I'm just losing my mind trying to figure out what it could possibly be! Please, please don't let this be a special commemorative keychain or magnet!! :faint:

9 days until online check-in is available. :goodvibes

17 days until vacation, 19 days until WDW! :jumping1:

I've been having such fun with the photos in your PTR, I kind of hope it doesn't get fixed! :lmao: Makes it kind of interesting to peek in over there and see what size the photos have morphed to this time!

I'm beginning to think it's because they're haunted mansion, maybe my photos are haunted:bitelip: Every single time I've looked, they're different sizes:confused3

The mini-plush M&M we picked up were 2/$14.

Thanks! I'll have to look if I get near our Disney store.

Thanks for the good wishes on the test. You know, I talked to the doctor on Monday about some other test results and he NEVER EVEN MENTIONED the mammogram ... so I'm really thinking it's just the center not getting a good view the first time around.

I had mine again yesterday and they said they needed to do some more, then needed to do an ultrasound, but in the end, 'twas nothing. If you've never had one before(I thought I read that earlier), they don't have a baseline to compare it to, so anything at all could cause them to question it.

Thank you! We're so excited about doing the halloween party. I was thinking about getting us special bags to bring in also, but DH has all but nixed that idea. :rolleyes1 He wouldn't even look at the ones at the Disney Store, party pooper!

Speaking of halloween bags, there is one from the Disney site I was contemplating getting. It's $10, but it lights up. I'll even post a bonus photo in hopes that you get the "haunted photo" effect that I seem to be having on my page.

Here it is lit up:

Hah!! I guess I do have to post pictures of my shoes now. I'm going to update my PTR in a few minutes and will post them then. LOL!! I do think it is some sort of unwritten rule. LOL!

Can't wait to see yours either! Didn't I read at some point in time that you have no Disney store nearby? :sad1:

There is no Disney Store in Buffalo. :( It makes me so sad! The nearest one is in Syracuse....2 hours away. I have to order my stuff from their website.

We brought our own trick or treat bags to MNSSHP 2 years ago. I got Disney themed ones at Party City and they are much larger than the ones they hand out at the park. They give our a TON of candy, so you might want to bring your own!
