Does this part of the attraction really bother you?

The helpful stuff is still there.

But I wonder how much of this feeling is because of how much the info threads are now being consolidated... a greater proportion of THREADS might be "debating" now vs. "helping", but perhaps the proportion of POSTS is similar...?

Just a thought.

Not sure. All I know is that I looked at MDE, saw that HoP was closed for refurbishment...came here to see what I could learn and man, what a trainwreck that was. Now, the beloved PoC.

Just stating how if feels to a new member here.

Others gave me this advice a while back and BOY WERE THEY RIGHT: the "ignore" feature can do wonders. Makes DIS much more palatable for me much of the time. :thumbsup2

I haven't navigated the site enough to even find that option. Lol I don't even have an avatar. How do I find that option posting from my phone?

When I ride Pirates in October, I have to say I'm going to get the giggles. Perhaps when we pass this scene I should stand up and yell “I am no longer accepting the things I cannot change. I am changing the things I cannot accept" and throw a bra at her!

Just kidding, but this thread has gotten quite bizarre. ;)

I do accept that it's silly to have a real discussion on a Disney message board, and I do understand that. :)

Now THIS is weirdly bizarre!

From my phone, if I just click on someone's screen name the option to click "ignore" shows up, among other stats/options.

Thank you. :)

I do want to say to you that I've read a lot of your posts on this forum. You are an asset here.

The entire ride is very tongue in cheek and those that see more into it are looking to see more.

As I said on another thread, they're pirates and whoever said they're good guys? Also, you can apply the same "logic" to many other Disney stories and attractions. This poll shows the vast majority are fine with it the way it is. I wonder who got to Disney to make them change it?

So I'm totally speculating here, but perhaps it was less "we MUST change this because people are complaining" and more "we want to add a badass female pirate, where can we do that. Oh there is this one scene that is questionable towards woman, why not repurpose that one."

I don't know enough about the ride to say if there was another spot to change/add the female pirate. I'm just saying that maybe this was less about the changing things aspect of it and more about the adding of something.

Probably more like "How we can sell a lot of pirate merchandise to girls". Always about the gift shop with the mouse pirate:

I wonder if there is any way they can keep the pirate riff-raff chanting "we wants the redhead!!" in the new scene?

Hehe yes I didn't say WHY they wanted to add the badass female pirate, just that they did. And to up their merch sales to girls sounds like a very solid reason.
