...with success!!!! :cool1: Here's our story:

We flew into Sanford and rented a full sized car from Alamo using the 7011111 code (made reservations online about a month prior). This is the controversial code that everyone has been talking about; apparently it is for some South American travel agents or something like that.

Needless to say, we had NO problems. We went up to the desk, and got a full size car for $132 for 7 days. Couldn't beat that deal! The agent at the desk didn't ask us to present any ID or anything else. He was helpful and quick, and didn't question anything. That may have been because it was 11pm, right before closing, and the agent was a young guy who probably wanted to get home.

We also used OOAG for our brother - he needed a one way rental from the hotel (ASSp) to Sanford. With the code, it was $29.

I don't make any guarantee that these codes will work for anyone else, I just wanted to share our story in case someone else can benefit from our experience. :thumbsup2

Thanks!
I have a reservation with Alamo and that code for a minivan in August, 206 bucks for a week, which is so much lower than anywhere else at this point. I have a Dollar reservation with the oOAG code, too....it is 290 for the week.

That's exactly what we did. We had an Alamo and a Dollar reserved, because we were nervous the Alamo code wouldn't be good! The good news was, we didn't have to use the Dollar reservation :woohoo:

I tried that for the weeks of 6/23-7/2 and it came out cheaper using the last minute deals link. Using the code I was quoted $348 and I got it instead for $240 using the last minute deal even though the week I am going is technically not qualified for that deal yet.

Thanks for the info. I just rebooked using the 7011111 + my Costco coupon and my rate for 7 days went from $170 to $94.37 :yay:!!

I couldn't get them to work!:confused3:eek:
Maybe they don't work from Melbourne airport.

Costco coupon? Is this available to all Costco members? Thanks.

It's pretty much available to anyone as you don't have to enter a membership number to view/print the coupons.

Go to costco.com and click on Travel. There will be a drop down menu for Car Rentals. Click on the company that you wish to compare and then choose from a variety of offers.

I used Alamo coupon # AD5411JDH with the 7011111 ID and it dropped my rate from $170 to $94.

I chose to pick up at The Dolphin Resort (they will pick you up from your Disney resort) and return to MCO as we don't arrive until late the 1st night and didn't want to pay for a day of car rental that we won't use. We will ride the free Magical Express to property and then return the car to MCO before our flight.

TIP: Tinker with the different pick-up locations if you have flexibility as it can save money.

Also, NEVER book the 1/2 hour time slots...only on the hour times i.e. 1:00, 3:00, etc.

Thanks! Just dropped my August reservation by half!

How far in advance did you make those reservations? I have a reservation for Dollar for August and nothing seems to be bringing the price down! Maybe I need to wait a little longer?

Where is the discussion on using the code? Can you point me to the thread?

That code dropped my rate from $57 for one day rental Tampa to Disney to $30. I was even able to upgrade from Economy to Compact.

Oh ... there is a LOT of discussion about that code ;). Just use the search feature ... it now works fine.

Yep, you'll find plenty of discussion about that Alamo code. Google if you want to branch out to other boards as well.

Some folks, like the OP, have used it with no questions asked. Apparently others have been asked to show their IATA card (travel agent) to qualify for the discount.

I believe the Dollar code is from the Florida convention and visitors bureau and is available for anyone to use.

I'm always hesitant to use a rental car code if I don't know where it came from and who it was intended for. Things could go smooth as silk, but they could also get ugly at the counter.

Whenever I try to apply a coupon along with the alamo code it doesn't let me. :confused3 How do the rest of you get the coupon to work with the 7011111 code? If I try other codes, the coupon will work (not as good as a deal though), and 7011111 works by itself, just not with a coupon.
