so after debating forever whether to take our BOB or rent a stroller, we took our BOB, and gate checked it, and so glad we did, we had absolutely no issue whatsoever at the airport, saved money on not renting. Just thought I would pass that along for anyone debating taking their BOB or not.

Just be warned that you cannot gate check such a large stroller on at least one airline, American.

Sorry , BOB is a stroller , and we flew United, it would have been helpful to add that.

Our Bob has been to Disney World 4 times and Disneyland once. We haven't traveled anywhere without it since we bought it in 2008.

We are planning on taking our Bob Duallie in January, flying on Delta. Hoping it doesn't get banged up since it was a sizable investment when we purchased it.

We have a bob duallie and it has been to WDW with us quite a few times. We always drive. No way would I trust an airline to gate check it. it is a dream in the parks but it is absolutely difficult on the buses. You might consider the price of a citi mini rental in your budget if you are worried. When we travel to WDW with the intent to use WDW buses, we bring our double maclaren and leave bob.

We have taken our Bob Revolution on both trips with DS. And we wouldn't do it any other way. This is even staying at All stars Movies and Animal Kingdom Villas.

The best part is at the airport. The wife usually hold DS and I load the Bob up with all of the luggage and it still can be pushed with a single finger. :-D
We fly Southwest and gate checking is no problem.

Would I be crazy to take my duallie? We are renting a car but would have to fly with it (southwest).

I was under the impression that you can only take strollers that fold (umbrella fold) on the Disney transport buses between resorts. I would prefer to take our duallie but I was assuming it wouldn't be allowed so way planning on taking our double maclaren instead as it folds much smaller and is easier to carry. Was anyone able to take a double Bob on the Disney buses?

I have seen people take larger strollers on the bus. It does take much longer to fold (time is more the issue than the size). I am not sure how easy or quick the BOB is to fold. Some passengers tend to get frustrated over the extra time at the bus stop. In my opintion, if you can have it folded and ready while spouse is holding childs hand, I don't see the issue with taking a large stroller.

I've flown 27 cross country trips since my daughter was born five years ago. I'd never check such an expensive stroller. They always get banged up :( If you do bring it just expect some scratches etc.

BUT the strollers are getting larger and larger.
this past weekend some of the strollers some people had were huge.
i mean a couple were the size of small cars.
the years when we needed a stroller we just figured in renting one at the gate and just living with it..
thinking back and watching these folks fighting these huge strollers it was money well spent.
after a long hard day at the park now you have to carry both child and stroller on a very crowded bus.
my medication don't work that well

I'm at WDW with our Bob Revolution Dualie right now! I am SO glad we ignored the advice to rent a smaller stroller. We have had ZERO problems on the bus which is what everyone said. I'm glad we have ours and not one we don't know how to use! DH can fold it in seconds and although it is heavy he sets it on the floor on the bus, so no big deal. We can navigate like nobody's business to zip through the crowds. :rotfl2:

I am SO glad we have our stroller!

Also, there are a LOT of BOBs here. Some people even have rented BOBs. Not sure which company that is. The BOB is definitely not the biggest stroller around. The widest I've seen are the two umbrella strollers that are connected. Those are a couple inches wider and seem very hard to maneuver.

Thank you!! I'm so glad to hear that the buses are not an issue! What about restaurants? How old are your kids (if you don't mind my asking)? Also, have you used it on the boats? Thanks!

Strollers are not allowed in most (if not all) restaurants. They must be parked outside in a marked stroller parking area. This includes CS restaurants, not just TS.

My kids are two. The only restaurant we took ours into was Pecos Bill. AFAIK they aren't normally allowed, but others had theirs in, so I took mine too! Just parked it right by the table and no problem.

You can't take it on the boat ride in MK (not sure the name of it) but we did take ours on the boat from the TTC to some park (can't remember where that goes). We didn't have to take the kids out. Just parked them to be able to see.
