We took our 2 year old to Disney World and guess what?

We just took our son, who is 2 years 8 months old and he had a blast. A couple of melt downs on the bus back to the hotel a couple of nights but all in all a great trip. He also is very tall for his age and he rode Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, twice!

My son will be two when we go and I'm not worried. The trip is only like fifty percent for the kids anyway - I want to go!

Awww! So happy your little guy enjoyed the trip so much!

I do not have any children of my own, but I am 13-20 years older than my three younger siblings. I remember my little brother and sisters first time at WDW at 2 and 3 years old. At the time, my bro was OBSESSED over Winnie the Pooh and I will never forget the way he lit up when he met Tigger and Pooh!
Nor will I forget the moment my little sister first met the Princesses :)

In my opinion (and I realize that every child is different), 2-5 years is the absolute BEST time for WDW.
At that age, the magic is just so amazing! The way their faces light up when they first see the castle or their favorite character is just so precious at that age!

I always get teary eyed when I see certain things about DW, but seeing a little one (especially the same age as my boy) really makes me cry. I just finished bawling my way through your video. Thank you so much for sharing it. I can't wait to take my little guy in October!

That was really cute. My son has been at ages 10 months, 2.5 years and 3.5years. All have been great.

Aww, very nice video! Looks like you all had a great time! We're taking our 2 year old next month (his 3rd trip, lol). We took our now 10 year old for the 1st time when he was 2 and we said we would never take a toddler again! But here we are, lol. After 3 kids, we're just used to the craziness! :cool1:

What a great video!! So glad you had a wonderful time! Before we became parents, DH and I said we would wait until our children were older to take them to Disney World. Then we went on a short trip while I was pregnant and realized we couldn't possibly wait that long! He went on his first trip at 1 years old and we have been back every year since. I will NEVER regret taking a toddler to Disney World. It's so amazing to experience it through their eyes!

And for all you naysayers who say 2 is too young, I know he won't remember this trip but my husband and I will remember this FOREVER

You hit the nail on the head with this. We went when DD was 23 months and DS was only 18 months. Our next trip he'll be only a week before his 3rd birthday. People think we're crazy but we LOVE it. No, they wont remember the specifics but it fosters a love for Disney in them and more importantly DH and I love it. I highly recommend picking a spot that you can take a picture of your kids each time you go so you can really see how much they've grown and changed between trips. I know that our trip pictures will be some of our most cherished possessions when the kids are grown :)

I have to share this as well: before one of our trips when DD was still very young and I was pregnant with DS a lady here on the Disboards told me that they always traveled with their kids starting very young and have continued even now that they are young adults. She said that there is nothing better than to watch your children grow up through the rose colored glasses of WDW. Got me right in the feels  To this day I cannot think of that lovely comment with dry eyes. It captures so perfectly why we go even when some would consider our kids "too young". These are memories we are making with our kids that we will cherish forever and so will they:lovestruc .

I just went back and watched your video and totally cried through the whole thing (and I'm not even pregnant!). Makes me wonder why have I NOT done this yet! Facepalm!! I'm planning on doing a trip report after we get back from our upcoming trip and now I need to do a video montage too! Thanks for sharing :flower3:

Loved your video, made me cry too! We are taking our 2 year old in September. Can you let me know what parks you went to and what you recommend to do? What did your 2 year old enjoy? I'm still trying to work out what parks to take my son too x

Awesome video! It totally made me cry. We took our kids on their first trip last year (at 3, 4, and 5) and after watching your video, I wish we had taken them sooner!

Loved your video so much! It makes me very excited to go next year with my 2 kids. My daughter will be 6 and my son will be 2 1/2. Can't wait to see their reactions. I will be going crazy taping & taking pictures!!

Add me to the list of crybabies!! ;)

We're taking our daughter this summer and she'll be a little over 2. I cannot wait!!! And I also don't care what she remembers-she's happy if I let her play in a pile of dirt. This is totally a selfish trip! :rotfl:

Can I ask what you used to put the video/pics together???

Oh my goodness, i cried watching this AT WORK!

Thank you for helping me make my mind up and take our will be turning 3 on our trip dd all the way from Melbourne Australia! ! cannot wait to see her face light up like your little boys did!

Aw, well I hope all you criers have a wonderful trip with your little ones too! I still get teary eyed watching it and my son says "why are you crying, that was the best trip of our whole life?!" Haha.

We did all four parks (we had 8 day park hoppers). We spent the least amount of time at DHS, we spent a lot of time at MK (obviously a lot to do there), we spent a lot of time at AK (DS really loved all the shows there, they are well geared toward the toddler age group, plus it was easy to stroller him around or walk and look at animals), we love Epcot, but we were afraid he would get bored, but he loved the Living Seas, Spaceship Earth and walking around the world showcase (and while he napped we would enjoy the gift shops or swap on Test Track/Soarin etc.

I used iMovie (we have an Apple computer). It is a great and easy program to use. I am definitely not a techie by any means, but playing around with it a little gave me the hang of it pretty quickly. This video has been a great way to remember the trip- have fun!
