I have to be out of my house in 10 Days!

DH & I are building a new house. We have not even broken ground yet. In fact, we dont even have a complete set of plans done with the builder yet. But we are working on it. We hope to break ground in 6 weeks or so.

So we listed our house. We figured it would take some time to sell, so better get it listed right away.

We got an offer 6 hours after it was listed in MLS! :woohoo: Our house went into MLS at 9:00am & at 3:00pm our agent called us with a full price cash offer!!

The buyers are closing on their home on July 10. And they want to close on our home on July 13! Of course our closing is contigent on their closing, which is freaking my DH out.

I am freaking out because we have 10 days to get out of a house, we have lived in for 5 years! :lmao: This is NUTS!

My DS (3) is not taking the packing well. And I feel so bad about it. But I need to get this stuff done. But we are doing our best to reassure him & give him the attention he needs.

Luckily we found a rental home a few blocks away. It is smaller then our house now by 1 bedroom & 400 feet. But it will do for the next 6 months or so.

I just hope my builder can build the house as fast as he says he can! :yay:

And all of my ILs arrive exactly 1 week after we close! DS birthday is coming & they will be here for the party. Good thing we are having the party at his Gym & not at the house!

Congrats, that is great news! 10 days is a short time to be out of the house, but you can do it! I just went through a big move myself, so I feel for you. Good luck with everything.

That is so great! I love moving. I love going through my stuff and getting rid of all that junk that I've been hoarding for years. And it's fun to find things that you thought were lost forever. Congratulations! Hope the building plans get finished soon. :thumbsup2

Good luck - hopefully everything was nice and clean when you listed your house, and all the clutter was gone!

Congrats - not only for selling your home, but also in finding a rental that will let you do less than a 1-year lease.

Get off the DIS - and get packing!!!

Congrats on the sale and good luck with the move. I HATE moving and after being in our new house since April 28th we just got settled a week ago. I told my DF the same thing that my grandpa says... "moving is for the birds!" I don't plan on doing it again any time soon.

Finding the rental that will do a 6 month lease was TOUGH! But we found one thankfully. After the 6 months we can go month to month if we need to, if for some reason our house is not finished yet. Oh that thought scares me, so lets just hope the house is done on time!

What was harder was finding a house that would take both our Siberian Husky & our German Shepherd Dog. We had serisouly considered giving a family member our German Shepherd for the time we will be in the rental.

I am just happy to be renting a house, although a small house, but a house, and not an apartment!

Thankfully a lot of the "clutter" was already out of the house. But there is still so much to do. And this is my 10 minutes of "me time" tonight. DH is giving DS a bath & told me to go relax. And the first thing I did was jump on the DIS! :rotfl2:

Congrats and Good Luck! If my parents got out of their home of 25 years in 2 weeks you can do it in 10.
