As I get older I find myself getting more and more "sneaky" about things like this. ;)

I actually had three small bottles tucked into my purse for the dinner we had at Blue Zoo with Michelle and her hubby and Lori ... but when the server commented on them I was too chicken to actually open them up at the table. I did give the cognac to Lori to enjoy so I hope it was good!

Ack! You started the report while I was still at WDW! I'm glad I got home finally so I can get started on my snarkfest comments! :rotfl2:

I didn't think you were serious when you said you had bottles of booze in your purse. It's like the booze version of Mrs. Olsen taking out a cup of coffee from her purse. Thanks again for the "SNL Ladies' Man Drink" -- Courvoisier. I haven't tried it yet. But I took a photo of it with the tiny martini glasses the truffles from PFTS came in. They make the tiny bottle look proportionate in size.

Good start so far. :)

B, sorry you guys weren't wowed by the Dole Whip. :guilty:

Oh well, I am sure you found many other tasty temptations on your trip :thumbsup2

FOUND IT!!!!    (Dole Bananas...:lmao: :lmao: )

Why????

Dole whip with Alcohol!!!!!!

Yes!!! It's called the Pineapple Dream. They have it at the pool @ the Poly. It's Dole Whip + Southern Comfort + Butterscotch Schnapps + Captain Morgan.

& if that ain't sweet enough.... :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

"There was only one thing to do ... stop at Aloha Isle and try the fabled Dole Whip. Jay likes pineapple and I don't, so it took me a few minutes to decide what to order. And then I shocked the CM by requesting a swirlie.

"I beg your pardon, ma'am?"

"I'd like a chocolate / vanilla swirlie, please."

Brenda love maybe the lady had your mug shot hid behind the counter and was apprehensive as to what you may do on seeing a large freshly whipped "swirlie" ice-cream......:snooty:

Heaven help us if they ever start serving Jesus juice with the Ice-cream,just think of the little people.....:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

I'm not big on the traditional Dole Whip, but I DREAM about a vanilla soft serve pineapple float. Those are tasty!

I'll probably try the Dole Whip myself one day....if I ever get to stop shelling all my vacation money out for kids weddings instead. They look refreshing.:thumbsup2 Looking forward to more updates B. :lovestruc

And then as soon as I heard the words come out of my mouth I wanted to laugh ... a swirlie ... oh my! I suddenly had a mental image of two burly CMs emerging from behind the counter wearing over-sized Mickey hands, fully prepared to drag me off to the nearest bathroom where I'd become intimately acquainted with a well-used toilet.

Yuck!

"May I please have a chocolate / vanilla soft serve combo?"

That did the trick!

:lmao: That is a great image! I am imaging 2 burly Polynesian types with dark sunglasses and flowererd shirts to accompany the Mickey hands!

Thanks for the laugh. I was just sitting here on my couch having a mini pity party for myself, b/c we should be leaving for the airport now :(

Thank you for saying that the dole whip is over rated......I thought I was the only one who thought that! :confused3

Okay ducking now so I don't get hit with all the pineapples the dole whip lovers are throwing! :scared1:

No one is throwing pineapples on this thread! We can't all like the same things ... I'm glad we tried it and now we know it's not for us.

I had my first Dole whip last year...

It was ok... and it was from the Poly...

But we get Dole Whips here at Jumpin Jacks during the summer.. all kinds of flavors so I don't know what the fuss was...

Now... if you could have gotten sprinkles for that swirlie... girlie.... :goodvibes :goodvibes

Yep ...

We felt the same way after trying our first Dole Whips...we wondered what all the brouhaha was about. :confused3

I hear you ...

I had a Dole Whip for the first time at Disneyland in May and agree that it was OK, but too sweet. I couldn't even finish mine and my sister finished it before riding Indiana Jones. Definitely don't see what the hype is all about. My sister really liked it and can't wait to get one when we go in January.

As much as Jay likes pineapple he's just not sold on the whip, which is fine. Like I said earlier, we don't really like eating dessert in the parks anyway ... too hot and stinky. ;)

I do believe they make a drink out of it at the Poly... may make it a bit more palatable with rum.... ;)

Well if they make a drink out of it, with rum, I may have to try it again! :rolleyes1

Rum, hmmmm? That might make it even more sweet. Maybe if someone added some kahlua?

Hmm... will probably try a Dole Whip this year (didn't know they existed until I was introduced to the "DIS")....

Nelson isn't big into sweet stuff (he does have me after all, how much sweeter can you get?) but I might be able to convince him to share one with me...

Thanks for the story... and BTW, your nose is fine.... :rotfl:

You should definitely try it for yourself and form your own opinion! And thanks for the OK on the nose ... it just looked really funny to me in that picture. :rotfl:

You have to love self-portraits! I know it is the only way Jason and I have photos together on vacation - I especially love the way for both of us to get in properly I seem to have to grow 7 more chins while getting the correct angle! :lmao:

We're lucky that Jay has such a long reach with his arms ... we've almost perfected the art of self-portraitry (is that a word???).

Ack! You started the report while I was still at WDW! I'm glad I got home finally so I can get started on my snarkfest comments! :rotfl2:

Oooooooh, your truffles came in a miniature martini glass? I'm so jealous! I bet they would have tasted great with the cognac! If the waitress hadn't come up behind me just as I was pulling the booze out of my purse I'd have opened them right there at the table but she caught me at just the wrong time and I felt really stupid and tacky so that's why I didn't. We drank the scotch later last weekend and it was tasty!

Welcome home!

B, sorry you guys weren't wowed by the Dole Whip. :guilty:

Well, we tried it and that's what's important. And yes, we had many other tasty treats so I'm not complaining.

I thought you might like the swirlie story. ;)

I'm not big on the traditional Dole Whip, but I DREAM about a vanilla soft serve pineapple float. Those are tasty!

You know ... a couple of DISers suggested that before we left on the trip but Jay really thought that would be too sweet and he opted for the traditional Dole Whip. Live and learn!

I'll probably try the Dole Whip myself one day....if I ever get to stop shelling all my vacation money out for kids weddings instead. They look refreshing.:thumbsup2 Looking forward to more updates B. :lovestruc

I think you'd probably really like the Dole Whip, MG. Now get that girl of yours married so you can come to WDW with us before the cruise next year!

:lmao: That's pretty much how I pictured it, too. The Polynesian Swirlie Mafia or something along those lines.

   It's just postponed ... you'll get there! :goodvibes

I just had to mention this ...

Next Friday is Halloween and I don't know about your city, but in St. Louis the traffic is awful ... highways clogged with people tryinng to get home in time to take their little ghoulies out for free candy.

So Jay and I always meet somewhere for dinner rather than spend two hours in traffic trying to get home.

Next Friday we're going to try a new sushi place in Chesterfield called Tsunami. They have an awesome menu including items like Squid Viscious and Marilyn Monroll. :lmao:

We're planning on taking the camera and writing a review that we'll post to the blog.

Just thought you'd like to know. ;)

I do like the dole whip, but I like pineapple.

I am happy when people don't like a food I like, in a situation like that, because, as my d-fil always says "Good. More for me." :rotfl:

I don't like cheap yellow mustard, so I figure it all comes out in the wash.

The Polynesian Swirlie Mafia

:lmao:

You are the queen of quirky Disney sound bites!

Okay now THAT'S how I'd like to be spending MY Halloween! Love it!

WOW. Those are literally EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRINKS! OMG

Wholley cow!! :sad2: I wanna go to WDW!

I find the Dole Whip a little too sweet too, but I had one swirlied *ahem* with vanilla soft serve and thought that was pretty good.

Sorry you didn't enjoy the Dole Whip, but at least you can say you've tried it. DD's and I loved them as floats, but DH and DS opted for the root beer float (as you can see below)! Mmmm, wish they served them on DCL!

Do you think you and Jay will cruise again? Your cruise report is the first one I read and what got me hooked on your adventures!

Denise

Great updates. I had a Dole Whip at DL and had much the same reaction. Pineapple is tasty but pineapple soft serve was not. I do very much enjoy the icy cold pineapple spears you can get from there, though.

I can't wait for the parking lot smackdown and assorted food porn pics. Thanks for sharing!

I like the orange swirl over at the orange place by the Tiki Birds... I know it has sunshine in the name, but I get confused with the place over at the Land... :confused3

Heretics! :rotfl2:

I am among the devoted throng of people who cannot wait to scramble to Adventure land for the wonders of the dole whip. But we always, always get it as a float, mmmmm! I'll forgive you. :flower3: (You know what else? I don't like ice cream bars with chocolate coating. :scared1: )

Soryy you weren't so crazy about the dole whip. Chuck loves them, I usually stick with Chocolate soft serve. Although there is something about eating one while you're on the beach at Poly......

That's a nice way to phrase it ... I'll take your cheap yellow mustard and you can have my pineapple. ;)

And thanks for the compliment!

Okay now THAT'S how I'd like to be spending MY Halloween! Love it!

Mmmmm, Halloween sushi!

WOW. Those are literally EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRINKS! OMG

Yes, you must come to WDW ... the drinks are just the liquid icing on the cake!

I find the Dole Whip a little too sweet too, but I had one swirlied *ahem* with vanilla soft serve and thought that was pretty good.

Oh, didn't think about trying a pineapple swirlie.

Hi Denise! I considered a root beer float, but I like those best with hard ice cream, not soft serve. As for the cruise ... we're booked on the 10/24/09 Eastern - this time next year we'll be getting ready to sail with the Mouse! :cool1:

Thanks for reading! I'll mention the pineapple spears to Jay ... he would probably like that very much! Better food porn is coming ... I wanted to get off to an easier start with some of the "small" stuff. Wait until you all see our dinner from Raglan Road. Oink Oink Oink.

Heretics! :rotfl2:

Well, I guess you're a heretic too if you're disrespecting the Mickey Bar! ;) Let's all forgive each other, shall we? :grouphug:

Doesn't everything taste better on the beach? :cloud9:
