ohana!
Upon arrival we checked in to the hostess desk, where the manager was actually working. I asked him for a window seat overlooking the Castle, and he did say the wait would be 20 minutes. I was fine with that. Our ADRs were 7:20 so we had tons of time before WISHES.
Heres my opportunity to order my Lapu Lapu. It was good but not as strong as I was previously told it would be. Probably just the difference in bartender. I will say that it doesnt hold as much fluid as it looks like it would. My DD 22 took a big drink and 1/3 was sucked down LOL. At 13.00 a pop I didnt order another.
Lapu Lapu - Tropical fruit juices and Myers dark rum served in a fresh pineapple topped with Bacardi
Less than 10 minutes of waiting and our table was ready. We had a great seat right by a window. Couldnt have asked for better.
We did NOT have a good waitress here. She was hurried and absent most of the night. I had to ask other waiters or our manager (who came by to say happy birthday) for refills. Our meat servers were good though and kept us full. We did get refills on chicken wings and potatoes. Our server was so lax that she even charged us for a kids meal on our bill, which if I was wanted to be a bad diser I could have paid OOP, but instead I had her change it to an adult credit. Ok, that should earn me a spot in heaven right? Hehee
Dinner was good though. I liked the beef, but didnt try the turkey or pork
pretty much just a beef eater.
The salad was REALLY good, loved the dressing, everyone loved the potatoes and the chips. The shrimp were NOT a big hit as they had legs on them and except for DH who loves shrimp; no one was hungry enough to rip off the legs of our dinner. The rest of us opted for the food that had no appendages.
Fried Wontons served with peanut sauce, chimichurri sauce and harissa
Mixed greens with a honey-lime dressing
forgot to take pics of shrimp and wings..dont ask why??
Dessert was very good. Not as good as I hoped because of the rave reviews, and possible because our terrible waitress left us with a tiny bit of banana foster sauce that literally had 2 slices of banana in the entire sauce. I was disappointed. Again, she assumed my DS was under 9, he is smallish, and brought him ice-cream with sprinkles, which was actually what he wanted anyway, so that worked out.
Wishes started and they piped in the music. It was so noisy, you would think, people would speak in hushed tones, but a party or adults next to us kept on talking really loud not even paying attention to wishes. I understand they are adults and enjoying dinner, but its 10 minutes, and how can you be at
WDW and NOT want to watch wishes if its RIGHT there? LOL, I swear I was confused by that. Anyway, they didnt dim the lights but you could hear a bit of the music. It was beautiful.
Luckily for us the electric light parade also went by, it was really fun.
My son had THE best time ever doing the Limbo and learning to Hula dance and marching in the parade.
omgosh im embarrassed, he has wing sauce all over his face lol!
intently learning the hula dance lol
LIMBO BABY!
All in all we enjoyed this meal very much, mostly because of the view and the things for the kids to do. The food was a bit above average. Service not so good.
I defiantly would eat here again though!
