DH and I will be picking up our new "toy" tomorow. I can't wait. We are purchasing from a private owner, a 1990 Trail Manor. It is in superb shape to be 17 years old. And we paid right at what the NADA values it at. So we are happy. The owners took really good care of it.

We are telling our friends when they ask about it's type, that it is a pop-up on steroids. LOL! That's because, as some of you may know, it is like a pop-up, but it is totally solid. Not tent like on the ends when opened.

We were hoping to go to FW in a couple weeks, but they are booked solid. Because of spring break, I'm sure. So we are going to find somewhere wlse to go near WDW. We are checking through Good Neighbor Sam's. Yes, we are already members.

Hopefully we'll be staying at FW soon. It's been 17 years since we stayed there in our old pop-up. So we are looking forward to it.

See some of you soon maybe!
Blessings,
Winnie

Congrats...you just bought a camper and you can still afford to go camping, hey it can't get any better than that ! :woohoo:

Good for you....keep calling maybe they will have a list minute cancellation!:confused3

How wonderful! Our first camper was a HiLo-very similar to Trail Manor. We loved it!!! I even pulled that one. Don't forget since you are Good Sam members that they have Samborees. We are going to the NC one in April and they are so much fun. Activities for all ages.

well, things have worked out a bit differently. The guy we were gonna buy the trail manor from, decided he didn't want to take our personal check. BUMMER!! I got right on the phone and found out another pop-up we had looked at was still for sale froom Giant Recreation here in Daytona.

We did even better. We bought a 1998 Coleman, Fleetwood Bayside slideout. Although it is not solid all around like the trail manor, it actually has more room. And we saved money!! That's always good. This one is newer by 8 years as well.

The purchase price of the Trail Manor was $4,950. Then we would have to pay taxes, tag and title transfer. About another $400. The Coleman, I worked a sweet deal. I checked NADA before I bought. We bought it "out the door" for $4,700. That included, PP, tax, tag, everything. YEA!!!

We are going to Orlando today and check out some RV sites to stay at in 2 weeks. If anyone knows of any you have stayed at, that are nice, please let me know. There is nothing yet at FW.

By the way, tell me more about the "Samboree". Where and when??

Blessings,
Winnie

We stayed at Sherwood Forest. It is off 192 and 3-5 miles ti WDW. We stayed a week at Christmas for 100.00. They don't have cable but they have everything else. They also have planned activities. We got wireless internet for 15.00 for the week. Beats Disney's 9.95 per day rate.We are planning to go back this Christmas and would highly reccommend this campground. They also own Tropical Palms which is located behind Old Town.We looked at both but chose Sherwood. Have fun looking. If you check out Good Sam online you can find where all the Samborees are being held.Every state has one or two per year. I hope that you can go.We are going to Charlotte which is about 50 miles from us. The NC one in the fall is in the mountains and a little more than 100 miles from us so we usually don't get there.Check it out and have FUN!
