My husband and I have been debating buying Copper Creek Villas directly from Disney whenever it goes on sale. We love the Wilderness Lodge resort and are interested in staying in 1 bedrooms when we visit WDW. We think the resort would be a good fit. For those who have bought from Disney directly instead of resale, what made you choose to do so? We currently own VGC resale, but since we bought after April of last year we didn’t get a membership card and don’t have access to any membership extras. It isn’t possible to buy any add on points for VGC directly from Disney.
I find myself wishing I could go on the member cruise and visiting the lounge at Epcot, I even feel sad we don’t have a real membership card. But it’s hard for me to place a specific monetary value on those things. We stayed at Aulani and couldn’t access some of the membership benefits such as getting our bracelets early. It’s small things but it does make me feel a bit like a second class DVC citizen
I have heard the argument to not buy based on membership extras, but they do have some value, even if they are subject to change.
If you purchased directly from Disney recently how do you feel about your decision? Do you feel like it was worth it?
